>>If your primary concerns are social issues, there isn’t anything principled about this endorsement. It’s no different than those support Giuliani because they believe terrorism is the issue that takes priority over all others.<<
Did you mean there isn’t anything unprincipled?
You got that right. And it didn’t come from you, it came from above
This is a genuine question, not rhetorical. It is my understanding that Huckabee endorsed Bush's comprehensive immigration reform plan or something very much like it. Is that true or not?

Never underestimate someone as evil as Hillary Clinton. When we start doing that, we will surely lose. I know she is mean and many don’t like her AT ALL. However, she is also corrupt, and that can get someone a lot of extra votes in key states.
It’s the Romney backlash factor . The Huckster is a breath of fresh air for Evangelicals , because the thought of a Mormon scared the heck out of them . Everything else be damned ....

I do not care what a person says after they are running for POTUS, that is not what they said before running.
I don’t like being called a racist for not wanting my country invaded, I don’t like his ethical problems regarding gifts to furnish his home and most of all I don’t his record on taxes. I want a President not a Preacher—I get that at church.
They'll have to pry the twinkies from my cold dead hands.
You are wrong! Huckabee can beat Hillary!
<< Evangelical Christians are getting behind Mike Huckabee >>
This one isn’t. I’m dismayed at how many are.
Trouble is... I know who I’m NOT for, but don’t really know who I’m FOR yet.

It must be the hair.
Evangelical Christians are not the "base" of the Republican party. Conservatives are the base of the Republican party. Some Evangelical Christians are conservatives, some are not and some are only conservative on a few issues and liberal on others. The fight for the "soul" of the Republican party is the fight for conservatism. Some Evangelicals are on one side, some are on the other.
I hope I’m wrong. I just don’t think I am. Do you really believe this country is going to elect a minister to the presidency, after 8 years of Bible-thumping Bush? I personally don’t have any problem with it, but there are a lot of key voters who do. I am not religious, but I am conservative. I am more concerned with taxes, guns, smaller government, the Constitution, and potential judge appointments than the religious/abortion aspects of this race.
Based on the evidence of those chosen for President the last 20 years; There is no empirical evidence that we ever had “friggin’ minds” to lose. I see countless complaints about Bush, yet, I am not seeing anyone rising to the top who will be a lot better.
Bush has been a decent president and that’s what the American electorate likes. We aren’t concerned with choosing the best, most qualified leader. We want the best fence-straddler we can find, that can put on a good show on either side of the fence.
I really don’t care if Huckabee could beat Hillary, the difference between the two is minimal IMO.
They would make the Huckster out to be a religious zealot if he won the nomination and he would lose .
I’m in the same boat. I have several I have eliminated (Huackabee is one), but no one I’m thrilled with yet.
