WAUWATOSA, Wis. -- A melee at a Kmart store in Wauwatosa Saturday morning was started by a computer glitch.
The store was running a promotion in which it would give away $10 to anyone applying for its credit card, but the computer glitch led to everyone's application being granted -- bestowing up to $4,000 in instant credit to anyone who applied even if they shouldn't have qualified.
Once word started to spread about the so-called "free money" Saturday, witnesses said things got pretty nuts inside the Wauwatosa store.
"They were having a big fight. Two ladies was jumping a lady over credit cards," witness Sylvester Wilson said.
Nearly a dozen Wauwatosa squad cars responded to the call just before 11 a.m. Saturday for what was called a large fight in progress.

The only exceptions are true guard dogs and actual cattle/sheep herding dogs. They work for their perks. (Maybe some show dogs, too, if they earn money, rather than just ribbons.

Service animals (e.g., dogs for the blind) also generate wealth in an indirect way. I have a blind neighbor who is a corporate attorney. He travels by bus every day with his guide dog. So in a sense, the guide dog generates revenue in that he allows my neighbor to go out and earn a living.
But I will say this, even though our pets may not generate money per se, what they do give us is often far more valuable.
I think ‘moticated’ is going to wind up along with ‘series’ and ‘hugh’ pretty soon.
A Blue light special! They even threw in a siren or two!
Did it already. I only got the card originally (years ago) to take advantage of the no interest, which worked out great, and never used it again. But when they sent me an unwanted and unneeded MC, I canceled. I had only kept it originally because Sears is a great place to shop for major purchases.
See my posts #24 & 37. I was just kidding and forgot the smiley winky face in my first post about all that..
Not “They”.
“DEY”
My dogs “payment” of 2 3 cups of kibble a day, and a vet visit now and again is more than earned by his every vigilant guarding of my home, and the fact that while a loving caring pet, will defend with his life my wife and children.
Way I figure it, like every dog I’ve owned, when his time on this earth is done, he’s more than earned his rest, and I’ve gotten the better end of the bargain.
Now, Cats.. .cats on the other hand, are the ultimate freeloader.
Unless you live rather slovenly and have a rodent problem, they bring nothing of value to the proposition other than companionship when they feel like gracing you with their presence.
You got that right.
You have to not just cut it up, but call them to close it or it’s still open.
You are much more right than I was. Cats are the freeloaders.
Cats and my Uncle Ernie.
No doubt about it. You are correct.
I was kidding about all this freeloading dogs stuff.
Only in Wauwatosa!!!!!!!
You could paint the broad side of a barn in one stroke with that brush...
Dogs are liberals.
Cats are conservatives.
Dogs are freeloaders, and feel a “need” for being taken care of.
Cats are perfectly content to live on their own and do their own thing, but will certainly appreciate a good friend.
I did, long ago.
No wonder Laverne and Shirley moved to L.A. ;-)
Leaving them open is better for your credit score though.
However, if they begin charging an annual fee, they have to notify you, and you cancel it at that point.
Corrected - :)
