Are you going to vote in the November 2008 election no matter who wins the Republican primary?

Posted on 11/25/2007 5:29:03 PM PST by cradle of freedom

I would like to know if you are going to vote in the November 2008 election even if your candidate does not win. Will you stay home if you don't like the Republican candidate?

Another thing that I have often wondered about is whether people actually stay home when they are disheartened. News commentators often say that some voters may have decided to stay home because they were not happy with the candidates. I think that is a mistake because even if you do not like the person at the top of the ticket you should at least vote for the other candidates. Have you every actually stayed home and not gone to the polls at all because you were not happy with a candidate?

I don’t think your wrong, it’s just my opinion and mine alone.

but if Hillary gets the nomination she’s gotta be stopped.

At the expense of your soul, and that of the party... Sure. It's a bargain.

I’ll vote in November 2008 for the republican candidate.

I’ve been disheartened before but it never kept me from voting.

I will vote for the Republian nominee. Staying home would be like voting for Hillary. Saw someone say if Rudy wins the nomination he/she will vote for Hillary. Now that person might just want to change their party so they can vote for Hillary in the primary too!

Yes, I will vote for any Republican to keep HRC out of office.
She could do a lot of damange with Executive Orders.
Rudy and Mitt could never do the damange, which would unlikely never be undone, that Hillary could do.

“I made a promise to God that I would never vote for a candidate who supports abortion. Trotting out a bogeyman shaped like Hillary will not cause me to violate my wedding vows or my pro-life eternity”

So God would rather see Hillary as President?

How many times to I have to say this President GHW Bush did not say - no new taxes, he said - no nude Texans.

Of course you're right. How could I have been so silly?

Horse Crap. An executive order is an executive order. A president is a president. A Liberal is a Liberal, unless of course, he's a RINO... Then it's better. /sarc

At the expense of your soul

Huh? I have a Catholic voter's guide book at home. If two candidates are running who are both morally repugnant, you may vote for the one who's less so WITH THE INTENT OF STOPPING THE ONE WHO IS WORSE. That is the ONLY reason I would consider voting for Rudy.

If the candidate is Rudy, Romney or Huckabee, the answer is no. We end up voting for republicans only to accuse them of being RINO’s which is exactly what a lot of conservatives have been calling these guys.

Agreed, I don't plan on ever reading another post and have someone say you knew what there were when you voted for them, example the amnesty king, Jorge. I will not accept the lesser of two evils.

Reading this thread, one could draw a couple of conclusions, if he thought that this group was representative of much of anything.

1. Many “conservatives” are already defeated, having said that they will vote for the nominee no matter who it is. The hacks will just write them off now as being unimportant to much of anything.

2. There are enough compromisers and RINOs to nominate any RINO they want, and to gut the Reagan Republican platform.

and,

3. There are not nearly enough real conservatives who will ever drink their koolaid for them to ever win a general election again.

Oh well. 152 years is a pretty good run for any party...

I’m not an ant and I won’t vote as part of a collective and I damned sure won’t be intimidated into voting as such.

Too much at stake. I’ll vote, even if I have to hold my nose while voting. Better than holding my nose (and wallet) for 4-8 years of a Democrat in the White House...

Uhhh... yeah, but I will be very angry if I have to vote for Mitt Romney. I’d say I’d be mad about voting for Ron Paul, but he doesn’t have a chance in the world, so I won’t waste the pixels.

I am genuinely interested in knowing how you come to these conclusions.

I think the election of Rudy Giuliani as Commander in Chief is the WORST of all possible outcomes. Just as he was unable to gain the respect of New York's first-responders, he will be unable to gain the respect of our troops. He is an adulterous, draft-dodging coward who supports abortion and open borders. He would as president humiliate this country at a time when we cannot afford it.

There are enough of us out here to beat Rudy in the primaries or, if necessary, in the general election. Keeping Rudy out of the WH is the MOST IMPORTANT political priority that we have next year. Rudy's nomination will destroy the GOP.

A vote for Rudy is a vote for Hillary.

I hope that clarifies things for you, upchuck.

P.S. Did I forget to mention that Rudy is also a transvestite whose perverted behavior has brought such shame on his family that even his children won't support him?

America will have the government that she votes for. The disease of socialism requires the strong medicine of reality.

In November, 2008, I will vote for any of the realistic GOP candidates except Rudy. If Rudy wins the nomination, I will not just stay home. I will vote AGAINST him.

Ditto.
