The amero conspiracy
The Boston Globe ^ | November 25, 2007 | Drake Bennett

SINCE HE BEGAN his presidential campaign, Republican candidate Mitt Romney has held more than 125 "Ask Mitt Anything" town hall forums, and the people who have shown up for them have done their best to make the events live up to their name. There have been questions about medical marijuana, about abolishing the income tax, about Romney's Mormonism and his potential vice president.

Of course, certain topics come up more than others. One is healthcare. Another is Iraq. A third is the North American Union.

The North American Union is a supranational organization, modeled on the European Union, that will soon fuse Canada, the United States, and Mexico into a single economic and political unit. The details are still being worked out by the countries' leaders, but the NAU's central governing body will have the power to nullify the laws of its member states. Goods and people will flow among the three countries unimpeded, aided by a network of continent-girdling superhighways. The US and Canadian dollars, along with the peso, will be phased out and replaced by a common North American currency called the amero.

Think about this however- you say the trend is toward greater consolidation, but consider the strength of decentralization and the power of the individual, united in liberty.

Look at how the file-sharing phenomenon has impacted the music industry. Once centralized under record labels, now decentralized relationships, illegal as they are, have gutted their profits somewhat. ITunes has provided something of a solution- a decentralized approach to legit intellectual property. Another example is AlQueda- kill Osama, and they will keep going. The Apache nation was organized the same way, that’s why they were a threat for 300 years, while the Aztecs were brought down in only 2.

There are many more examples, both good and bad- but the point is, you can’t cut the head off of a decentralized entity.

A return to Constitutional government, with much more individual liberty, can take on the best of what a worldwide Tower of Babel has to offer, and in fact, overcome it.

This is America’s assignment from God- to impact the planet with freedom. We (the People) can’t just give up, regardless of what our control freaks politicians try to do.

Yeah, that "incrementalism" is a rather weak argument. One could argue that the international standardization of civil aviation frequencies is just a small step in the direction of one world government but the alternative, not standardizing radio frequencies for fear of the same just isn't very smart.

That’s all you got? “Incrementalism is weak?” Come on, man. I thought you had some juice here.

I did, and I don’t agree. You’re setting a false comparison between standardization of frequencies and the merger of three sovereign nations. Get real.

Meanwhile, back to what I said, you’ll have to think of a better reply than that.

Absolutely. To favor it would be tantamount to treason. And it would be a terrible idea on so many other levels it’s difficult to count.

Then why be so adamantly opposed to the idea that many suspect that certain factions in and out of the government, elected officials and bureaucrats, are working toward the goal of a NAU? Especially when some have said so, publicly?

Perennial suspicion, yea even paranoia, is good, is it not? Popular resistance to an idea, even if that idea is not actively being pursued, is a message and a warning to those who would entertain that notion, yes?

How is it not good that there are those who beat the drum against such a union, keep the possible threat alive in the minds of the people?

It may be a "conspiracy theory" in fact, but we ought not forget that virtually every regime change in history has been the result of a conspiracy, so, the term "conspiracy" has a long and well established track record. And, by its very nature, the people only find out until too late.

I see you and some others tirelessly beat the drum in favor of a current governmental status quo existing unchanged into perpetuity. "Eternal vigilance is the price of freedom" is not speaking of what you know, but what you suspect.

I stated that I think that "incrementalism" is a weak argument, and I gave an example of why I think so. I can also direct you to the SPP webpage that details some of its accomplishments . . . using apparel care labels as another example, are you able to demonstrate that cooperation in that regard is . . . what?

I'd also like to see you demonstrate the difference between my civil aviation example and your coal example, instead of blithely commenting "they're not the same because I say so."

Smokin’ out the early risers, huh? Glad you always seem to have the energy for this fight. I sure don’t.

Because I'd rather work toward preventing the formation of the NAU, instead of working toward preventing a coordinated response to avian flu, while thinking that I'm working toward preventing the formation of the NAU.

The NAU is as real as the globalists’ conspiracy to block enforcement of our borders has been for the last forty years. The NAU is the only rational explanation for why George W. Nixon WILL NOT enforce our borders.

Here’s thet whole thing: I’m not an anarchist, I’m an individualist. I don’t like collectivism in any form whatsoever, unless the PEOPLE who are directly impacted by the rules agree upon a set of standards. Civil aviation frequencies, for example.

This isn’t anything like that. We’re talking about an arrangement of government that the vast majority of We the People don’t want any part of.

Eventually to be extended to Asia via the Alaska-Siberia tunnel and the Trans-Alaska Railroad.

If you want to coordinate a response to the avian flu, I have an idea- CLOSE THE BORDERS.

See how easy that is?

But they won’t do that, because the avian flu provides an INCREMENTAL stepping stone.

The gun-grabbers use the same strategy, so do the tax raisers, as do many forces in government for various causes.

You better run that past me again, hoss. I didn't scan it.

It appears to me that those working tirelessly to suppress suspicion of a possible scenario can be said to be working in support of that scenario.

Approximately 18 to 24 months ago, folks were coming on this forum to state that the transnational corridor through Texas up through Candada was an ultra-right wing conspiracy theory.

The call by President Bush for there to be a three nation security plan, which would see our borders relaxed and the parimeter of the three become the new line to defend, means nothing at all to those who slam others for recognizing it for what it is.

Essentially we have idiots claiming that that no amnesty was proposed earlier this year, and that no FTAA is on the drawing board.

Well folks, sip at your own risk. No thanks!

This transnational security plan is not a North American Union. Keep repeating until you’re somewhat drowsey... oh neverming, I think some people have already achieved that state.

While the design is both derivative and hideous, it is not nearly bad enough to represent genuine coinage . Safe to say the Republic is secure, at least for now.

Here's a newsflash for you, buddy. The "avian flu" is a virus found chiefly in birds. How do you propose to close the border to birds?

That is simply not true, just as your same claim about the FTAA is not true now. One problem that people who believe in conspiracy theories have (and it's central to their pathology) is that they see motivations that simply aren't there, or never existed.

So what you were seeing is (this is a rough diagram of how the faulty reasoning occurs):

past claim: There is a conspiracy to erase the border by building the road!
past counterclaim: The road already exists, and a plan to expand the road exists, but it is not a conspiracy.
resulting claim: Someone said there (either) is no road or no plan to expand it!
