Fred Thompson said NYC isn't a model for the rest of the country....Giuliani should stop basing (gun-control) on his time as mayor. Giuliani and Hillary are rolling out splashy dueling bus tours. Jan. 3 Iowa caucuses are less than six weeks away.......Clinton and husband Bill plan to blanket the state virtually nonstop. Monday, Clinton jets to NH. This weekend Giuliani goes to Concord, then to City Hall in Manchester. NH votes Jan. 8. Giuliani trailed front-runner, Mitt Romney, in the latest CNN/WMUR poll...with 16% to Romney's 33%. John McCain has crawled back to 2nd place with 18%.

Backtracking-----Giuliani now says said he did that when he was in reflex mode..........
(waiting for hysterical laughter to die down).
Looks like Giuliani is trying to make the Giuness Book of World Records as "The Most Idiotic Presidential Candidate in US History."
LLS
The real story in this is that if Hillary wasn’t married to Bubba, we’d all be saying “Hillary, who?”.
FRed is our guy. Watch it happen.
Giuliani "simply supported just about every gun-control legislation that came down the pipe. I just disagree with him on that," Thompson said.
"I saw he was at bill-signing ceremonies with [New York Sen.] Chuck Schumer and President Clinton and others for gun-control legislation over the years. Of course, he's not as outspoken about it any more."
MSM media can not keep rooty in the air forever. And rooty must be cussin the Supreme Court for taking the Heller case `cause its gonna push the issue right out to the front
Meanwhile, Fred maintains course and speed.
How old would Rooty have been in 1972? 27, 28?
I’m no Rooty fan and certainly not taking up for him(Thompson man, I am) but I voted for George McGovern, too. You see, I was a clueless 18 year old college freshman casting my first presidential vote and that $1000 McGovern wanted to give me (smirk) was going to pay for lots of beer and skirt-chasing.
May late father, may God rest his soul, set my a$$ straight a couple of years later on my birthday with a gift of Atlas Shrugged.
Yep. Rooty was 28 on election day in 1972. I am not gonna give you a hard time about being a McGovern supporter at the age of 18. That’s pretty young. But most people, if they have any sense, have figured it out by the time they are 28. Looks like Rooty was a little slow.
And, that's because American politics is nothing more than a popularity contest.
I have to agree with Thompson on this one. Rudy and most of the MSM are New York centric.
Yeh, my dad set me straight on the Kennedy family “in my youth”.
I wiped a booger on Carl Levin's chair when I was six... I learned early...
“NYC isn’t a model for the rest of the country”
I’ll grant you that, and either is Washington, D.C. or California.
Absolutely right! By the time I was 28, I pretty much had my core beliefs engraved in stone & I didn't have the benefit of a fancy college edjumacation to work with either. Rudy is a liberal through and through down to his bone marrow. Fred is exactly right!
My all-time favorite Churchill quote.
Actually it was acid reflux mode.
I voted for McGovern. I was 19 and had been drafted by Nixon. I had a grudge. I won’t hold it against Rudy.
Gun control on the other hand...
At the end of this campaign Iowa will be covered with enough corn and fertilizer so that it will be able to feed the world.
It’s obvious whom the NY Post supports.
This is an attempt to duplicate their infamous and highly successful headline: FORD TO CITY: DROP DEAD.
All Ford said was that the city dug its own hole, so the city should mend its ways and not rely on taxpayers from other states to fix its self-made problems. But that headline may have cost him the election.
Thompson did not trash the city. All he said is that the rest of the country has different views on gun control laws. Which is stunningly obvious.
But ripping and trashing their fair city is what most New Yorkers and other readers will get from this headline, presuming it works again.
Just a 'little slow'? More than a 'little slow'.
Let's not forget his strong, public and vocal support for a liberal, far-left, Marxist like Mario Cuomo over the Republican candidate Pataki (who Rooty wouldn't support largely because the Republican wanted to CUT TAXES too much).
