I’m sorry to say that I have to agree with the panel. I don’t think Thompson has the fire in him the way some of the other guys do. Besides, he waited too long to get into the race, imo.

I was prepared to support Thompson but he has said precious little so far and his communications setup seems to be an afterthought.
HOWEVER - if he would start breathing some fire the press, bored to tears with the Dems and Hillary in particular, would give him many huge free megaphones every night.
The conservatives are waiting for something - anything - that doesn’t sound like another 4 years of Potomac Fever.

"Im sorry to say that I have to agree with the panel. I dont think Thompson has the fire in him the way some of the other guys do."Me too, ps. I was pretty excited when he first hinted at getting in,....even sent him some money. With the sole exception of the Michael Moore video, he's been a BIG disappointment. I'll stick with Red October re-runs.

I agree... this ought to be a rather straight forward “don’t blame the messenger, guys!” moment around here but I see that isn’t going to be the case.

I dont think Thompson has the fire in him the way some of the other guys do. The "fire" that most politicians have is arrogant self-serving ambition. If Thompson doesn't have it, then good for him.

Everyone else started this whole thing way too early, imo. We're all going to be sick to death of both "nominees" brefore they even get to their respective conventions, which I predict will be less watched than PBS's When Paint Dries.

I don't think he waited too long, he just disappoints when he talks. It's not necessarily the words though they could be a lot stronger, communication is 85-90 percent non verbal and he doesn't really seem to be in this.

I don’t think Thompson has the fire in him ============ I agree. I don't see enthusiasm, vision, energy, sincerity or even much effort coming out of this man. It seems as though his routine on the TV show is simply being applied to his run in politics. He's not around during most of the show and then we get a quick look at him at the end.

Besides, he waited too long to get into the race, imo. Not to argue, but two-plus year long campaigns are kind of ridiculous. Fred entered with over a year before the election, and several months before the first primary. I see the others as having started this carp too early.
