I can't belive it's been that long - here it is, one more time !!! >Short Version with Kick-off Only
For the longer version (Elway leads a long drive to score, thinking he has won the game and will be going to his first Bowl game as a college QB):
>Long Version with touchdown, then Kick-Off
The Band is on the field! The band is on the field!
If it wasn’t for YouTube, my kids would never believe this happened !!!
When USC plays Stanford, the bands usually design their half time shows so as to insult the other school. In a game during the 1980’s—I believe it was 1983 or 1985—the USC Trojan Marching Band concluded its half time show with a re-enactment of The Play—complete with the proper football uniforms and Trojan bandsmen dressed in Stanford Band uniforms. The real Stanford Band members were obviously not amused.
“The Play”? I thought you meant “Bo Over the Top”.
And if I recall correctly, all of the football jerseys had Elway's #7 on them.
OH! And I loved how the USC announcer would introduce the Stanford band onto the field:
“Please welcome the band representing Leland B. Stanford... ... ... JUNIOR University!”
I was there. About 20 rows up in the middle of the Student Section.
I know the number of people who were there grows every year. But I really was there.
Nobody knew what happened until the cannon fired, and then all Hell broke loose...
And, yes, we are getting old...
The guy’s knee was clearly down before he pitched the ball.
< SNORT>
(Elway leads a long drive to score, thinking he has won the game and will be going to his first Bowl game as a college QB)
A few years later, Elway led a similar last minute drive in Cleveland (minus the ensuing kick return) which took him to the first of his 3 Superbowl losses...
I thought the Bronco’s played Cleveland. Still have Elway haters out there. Eat his stats chump. Eat his HOF.
No hate for Elway here - I’m a Bronco lifer and will never forget the win at SB XXXII. That was real redemption
IMO, The Trinity University game from earlier this season is the best all time college ball finishing play.

. .. .
Yehuda , .. were we still kids back then? ,.. (( awwwww , nevermind ))
enjoy the long version
Probably the most dramatic play in modern sports history.
Someone from Cal got a trombone (I think that was the instrument that the guy in the end zone was playing before he got decked at the end of the play) and beat the sh!t out of it with a sledgehammer for a while. They put the banged-up instrument in a trophy case at Cal with a label on it saying it was the one the guy was playing in the end zone. LOL.
Another thing is that Denver should have kept the orange jerseys. They're not the same.
