Why can't we use this money to secure our border, build the fence, create a secure ID system, and let Mexico, a sovereign nation, worry about its own damn legal system? Why are we paying taxes for this, when the Constitution states the federal government is supposed to be ensuring our security, not rewriting the Mexican Constitution. Whose bright idea was this, anyway?

why is the Us paying for anything mexican That's Question 1. Question 2 is what business does the US have imposing this violation of their sovereignty on Mexico? Our problem now it that THEY don't respect OUR sovereignty. Returning the favor just justifies it.
If Mexico wants to let drug dealers run wild in their streets that's their business (I mean it really is their business). If we don't like it we should just build a better fence... Then again, that may impact the bottom line on some financial institutions in the American Southwest. (Not that I would ever accuse our banks of money laundering.)

And don't shop at CompUSA, one of his little jewels in our country.

A load of horsesh#t. Most of it will end up in some corrupt Mexican official’s pocket. And Bush will get his kickbacks.

Isn't that amazing?
That's the richest man in the world.
From one of the worst countries in the world.
If we weren't on the other side of the border, his country would be worth zip and he would be just another shyster trying to stay one step ahead of the other thugs.

don't shop at CompUSA Well, considering in the NYC metro area, CompUSA has fallen flat and pulled out of many brick and mortar stores, this one is a done deal. Over priced, crappy service, feebs for store clerks, I only used the place to get same day software. Kinda glad they are outta here.

True. But all the Marxists and neocons think that we should be reshaping the world in our own image instead of just building a fence and learning how to mind our own business.

This plan is so foolish only a president as DUMB as George Bush could fall for it. The man is the Jimmy Carter of the rigtht...
Disgusting.

The War on Drugs demands increasing controls and powers - reminds me Hayek's "Road to Serfdom".

Ten or fifteen sniper rounds at 0.40 cents each through the skulls of Mexican drug running border police and military personnel would bring about the required "re-education" and save American taxpayers $500 million.
Might not et the Mexican constitution re-written but then we could just mail them a copy of ours.....it's never needed rewriting.
