Barry M. Goldwater, Jr. endorsed Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul for president.
America is at a crossroads, said Mr. Goldwater. We have begun to stray from our traditions and must get back to what has made us the greatest nation on earth or we will lose much of the freedom we hold dear. Ron Paul stands above all of the other candidates in his commitment to liberty and to America.
Leading America is difficult, and I know Ron Paul is the man for the job, he added.

The sons of the prime Republican conservative heroes seem to go deep end. Just look at Reagans son.

This is just sad, but Barry himself was under the sway of his Liberal wife by the time he passed away and was becoming a bit of a crank. Perhaps this is a similar case. Run Paul, however, will never carry as many states as Barry did!

By the end of his career his own daughter was having abortions and his grandson came out as a homosexual without any resistance from him. He was a strong conservative in the 1960s but a spineless moral coward in the 1980s.
But as for his son, I'm not all that surprised given the Goldwater legacy of limited government, although Goldwater Sr. was much more of a hawk.

I met Barry during his Dad's campaign. He was later elected a Congressman in California for a few terms, and ran in a multi-candidate GOP primary for Senator. One of his opponents was Maureen Reagan, and there were a number of other conservatives and RINOs running.
Things have changed a lot in California in 20 years.

I hope the destination will be the Republican convention, where he will be upn the podium supporting the nominee, whoever it turns out to be. We need a united party to defeat Bill-ze-Bubba’s wife.

There’s a difference between being a hawk for your own country’s interests and being a hawk for some other country’s.
