OfficeMax Drops Michael Savage Ads Over Anti-Islam Bias
CAIR press release ^ | Nov. 15 2007

Posted on 11/16/2007 7:29:50 AM PST by ddtorquee

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) today announced that OfficeMax, a leading office products retailer, has joined a growing list of companies that have stopped advertising on Michael Savage's nationally-syndicated radio program because of the host's anti-Muslim views. CAIR recently reported that Savage, whose "The Savage Nation" airs on more than 300 radio stations nationwide, screamed attacks on Muslims, Islam and the Quran, Islam's revealed text, during his October 29, 2007, program. To listen to Savage's bigoted statements, go to: http://www.cair.com/audio/savage_102907.asp SEE: National Radio Host Goes on Anti-Muslim Tirade http://www.cair.com/ArticleDetails.aspx?ArticleID=23608&;&name=n&&currPage=1&&A ctive=1 The Washington-based Islamic civil rights and advocacy group called on radio listeners of all faiths to contact companies that advertise on Savage's program to express their concerns about the host's anti-Muslim bigotry. Companies that have dropped ads from Savage's program include Citrix Systems Inc., a global leader in application delivery infrastructure.

Thanks for the link. I just informed the appeasing idiots that they’ve lost my personal and corporate business until such time as they reverse their decision and pledge never to bow to pressure from the likes of CAIR or similar organizations. F’em, I’ll shop at Office Despot, Kinkos or Sam’s.

I hate CAIR. I hate Savage. So it’s a wash.

I love Savage. When he goes on a rant I can’t stand, I just turn him off for a bit, and then back on when he’s done. Works like a charm. But for the most part, I agree with most of what he says. Plus he’s funny, witty, very bright, and is a great raconteur. One of the best storytellers around. He paints wonderful pictures with words. He’s eccentric, and I’ve always had a soft spot for eccentrics. A one of a kind character. And most of all he believes whole heartedly in language, borders, and culture, OUR culture, and not that of any third world country trying to dilute or destroy our culture. Savage understands what’s really happening to our country, and it ain’t pretty.

"I would even go as far as saying I Hate his show, but this assault on free speech won’t go unpunished. Goodbye Office Max."

Ditto for me on both counts. I don't patronize businesses run by ACLU-loving, round-heeled namby-pambys.

Just sent an e-mail to Office Max telling them that they just lost me as a customer and that I will spread the word to friends and family. Told them that it was sickening to see them cave in to the demands of a subersive group such as cair to silence an American’s right to free speech.

"I don't like Savage, but......."

Well, I like Savage. I don't have to hear truths all packaged up neat and pretty that try to make me feel good listening to them.

There will be a day when the diamond-in-the-rough Savage will look like a prophet on many issues......but, as we know, prophets have little honor in their own countries and are considered kooks by the wise guys till it's too late.

Actually, the "don't-offend-my delicate-ears" conservatives just love to write him off because of some of his revved-up rants.....and on the other hand, they hang on every word from talk show hosts who seldom rant, who speak truths also, but who make them feel "clean" and more sophisticated than the San Francisco Treat.

While the major hosts will scarcely endorse (even obliquely) the best conservative nominee in time for the primaries, you can bet Mike will do so. Agree with him or not on his primary race opinion, you can still count on him to take a strong and gutsy stand.

Ditto!

See my #48.

I'd rather be a freeper with an eagle in my psyche than a conservative with a chicken on my radio.

(......well, you get my drift).

Thanx. They responded, and so did I:
> We will not knowingly discriminate any groups or individuals on the
> basis of race, religion or heritage.

Not even when THEY threaten and/or act against the United States of America?
Would you have said the same thing about Nazis during the 40s?

Isn't this stupid? You must be ashamed to have to defend such a policy.

I received this from OfficeMax:
--------------------

OfficeMax advertises to inspire and motivate our customers to do their best work.

We seek environments that best support these advertising goals.

Advertising environments that are controversial or polarize segments of our communities are not the most conducive for our goals.

OfficeMax customers - and our associates - represent a broad and diverse community. We will not knowingly discriminate any groups or individuals on the basis of race, religion or heritage.

December 16, 2005 A notice of refusal TES, a Jihad Watch reader from Florida, sends me this message: Yesterday I went to Office Max in South Florida to make up business cards....here is an example of the card I planned on making up: WHAT THE MEDIA IS NOT TELLING THE AMERICAN PEOPLE PLEASE READ AND SUBSCRIBE JIHADWATCH.ORG PEOPLESTRUTHFORUM.COM WND.COM MEMRITV.ORG AMERICANCONGRESSFOR TRUTH.COM And then I added these words: The American people have the right to know the truth. This picture was included on the card also: I paid $130.00 and was told that the cards would be ready in about one week. Today I received a call from Office Max saying that their printer refused to print the cards...I called back and asked for the supervisor, who said she called the local printers and they have "the right to refuse a customer." After that I was disconnected. So you see, it's difficult to get the word out. I will try to find other ways to get these cards printed.
