Record 1 Million Cases of Chlamydia Reported in the U.S. Last Year

More than 1 million cases of chlamydia were reported in the United States last year — the most ever reported for a sexually transmitted disease, federal health officials said Tuesday.

"A new U.S. record," said Dr. John M. Douglas Jr. of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

More bad news: Gonorrhea rates are jumping again after hitting a record low, and an increasing number of cases are caused by a "superbug" version resistant to common antibiotics, federal officials said Tuesday.

Syphilis is rising, too. The rate of congenital syphilis — which can deform or kill babies — rose for the first time in 15 years.

"Hopefully we will not see this turn into a trend," said Dr. Khalil Ghanem, an infectious diseases specialist at Johns Hopkins University's School of medicine.

This is, of course, bad news but in a way it's good news as well. It means that routine screening is picking up many cases of chlamydia in the early, treatable stage, before it can cause permanent damage.

Also in the news: a record number of new STD transmissions could be traced back to sexual contacts with one man..... William Jefferson Clinton.

We're pushing the sex education.
We're pushing condoms.
Many areas are backing off from the Abstinence Only approach to sex ed.
We're distributing birth control pills to 11-year-old girls through the school nurse.
We're pushing acceptance of all sorts of sexual expression.
Our culture and entertainment is increasingly sexualized.
Even our young children are now dressing like hookers.

And STILL the rates of sexually transmitted disease are going up. I just don't get it.

The obvious answer is MORE sex education, right?

All teen movies seem to be about sex.

The schools talk openly about sex.

TV seems obsessed with sex.

Our former President couldn’t bring himself to say that oral sex is sex.

And we wonder why there is so much unsafe sex?

Sounds like we should be pushing for abstinence in schools rather than condoms.

Yes, you have just described what my liberal ex girlfriend thinks we need more of, despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

This is serious. Better order another semi-load of contraceptives.

It’s funny, I keep having sex with the same woman (my wife) and I just never get diagnosed with this stuff. Weird huh!

Actually, I don't think it's the schools' job to do either.

"In order to make a beautiful omelet of sexual liberation,
a few eggs must be broken!"

Probably what the Leninists of "sexual liberation" around the
ACLU, Planned Parenthood and similar organizations would say.

Just goes to show that the problem isn’t unique to the present day. Rates of syphilis were far higher then than now.

That sounds like a great plan. Can I have her number?

I wish Justices felt the same way as us about that, I agree with you.

Good reason to vote in the main election for who ever the Republican is to get conservative justices in and to help reverse the horror liberalism has brought us.

Hope is not a strategy, and this is already a trend, and a disturbing one at that.
