Should we stop Muslims from immigrating to the USA?

Posted on 11/12/2007 7:59:49 PM PST by cradle of freedom

Should we stop immigration by Muslims? It seems quite self evident that there are too many cultural conflicts between Islam and our way of life. Yet, our immigration system keeps allowing large numbers of Muslims to immigrate into our country causing all kinds of cultural frictions and safety concerns. The more Muslims there are in the country the more jihadists there will be in our midst, the more travel between us and Islamic countries and the harder it will be to find the jihadists among the every increasing Muslim population.

Look in any Muslim country, and tell me if that is the case.

No. And that may be precisely why a good many Muslims want to come over here. We need a clear understanding of the threat. It happens to be certain Muslim fanatics, but they are not the only threat. The notion to simply outlaw their immigration to our country, while well-intended, is neither practical nor right according to our founding ducument.

We have a BIG problem with illegal aliens from Mexico. And they have killed (murder, auto wrecks, etc.) a bunch of US citizens. But at least they don’t have a sworn duty to kill us.

And yet they have killed far more Americans than Muslims have.

Most of these illegals were raised Catholic. So, using the logic displayed on this thread, I conclude that Catholicism is a dangerous influence and we should ban allowing Catholics to immigrate. And deport the one's we have.

< note: Yes, this post sounds stupid, but it ain't no worse than anything else on this f&%$#@d up thread. >

If you have studied history and know anything about this abomination called a religion, absolutely deport them all. You cannot be Muslim and anhthing else. That is your being in totality and you will worship the prophet and what he did and stood for.

I have zero desire to let Muslims enter this country and start their own country within our borders and/or act in secret to attack it from within, but I’m have the same concern as you about the Constitutionality of this. In addition, I do recognize that a small handful of Muslims are an important part of the WOT.

I wonder if Freepers really want Muslims banned from immigration, or if they’d really rather have stricter rules for citizenship and stronger anti-sedition laws enforced.

Glad to hear it. If you think that 98% of the comments on this thread are racist then it seems strange that you would want to affiliate with a bunch of people who you feel are racists. I don’t know why you think it is racist for someone to say that we should stop Muslims from immigrating to the USA. It makes perfect sense that the majority of people would feel this way simply because we don’t want their brand of hatred coming into our country. They hate everything we stand for, so why should we want to continue to allow people like this immigrate to America? If it is racist to not want to have more people who hate everything we stand for come into our country—then I proudly declare myself a racist.

October 2001: Estimates of the Muslim population in the United States are lower than widely believed, according to a new study issued by the American Jewish Committee. “The average number being cited by the media at present – 6.7 million Muslims – is 2.4 to 3.6 times greater than the best available estimates, which are 1.9 million to 2.8 million,” concludes Dr. Tom W. Smith, who authored the study, “Estimating the Muslim Population in the United States.”

So what do you propose we do with the 2 to 3 million? FYI: 16% of the population of Israel is Muslim.

It isn’t our choice. It’s no more our “country” than anyone elses and it’s owned, operated and controlled by the unseen hand of the super wealthy puppet master who, through control of the worlds financiers and central banks controls the multi-national corporations. Thus, we can exercise no control over who comes into the country; those decisions are made at the top, by those who sit at the tables of internation finance and of course, the Saudi’s have a seat at that table along with the Rockefeller’s, the Krupps, the Rothchilds, etc. It’s a stacked deck and they issue us in fleeting tribute the two faced coin, a Republican on one side, a Democrat on the other, two faces, one party.

I agree with you. The idea that a person’s religion will become the litmus test as to who can come or stay here is preposterous. Aside from the fact that it will never happen, these kind of comments are outrageous given our history and the Constitution.

"What we need to outlaw is seditious attempts to supplant our freedoms with slavery."

We have laws on the books against that The problem is that nobody's arresting anyone for doing that. But we'll impeach a president in a heartbeat for lying on a sex-related question.

Freedom of religion is not the same as freedom of immigration. No one is born with the right to come to the United States — it is a priviledge.

You mean Bu$h’$ friend$hip with the $audi royal family? I read that former Secretary of State James Baker does legal work for the Saudi royal family and Jimmy Carter is very close with one of the princes even staying at his ski challet in the Alps. You don’t think that being exposed to that kind of humongous wealth will turn their heads, do you?

Be on them like white on rice.

What does that mean specifically? Ethnic cleansing? Making them wear a cardboard Red Crescent? Setting up concentration/extermination camps?

And how do you think such a policy would be viewed by the world's billion plus Muslims? How would it affect our relations with NATO ally Turkey? What impact would it have on our efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan? Actions have consequences.

You would have made a great Nazi.

IMO, should one want to immigrate into the US, then assimilation into US customs, laws ought be manditory. If those immigrants in America refuse to assimilate - regardless of their beliefs or backgrounds, it is appropriate they be encouraged to return to the lands in which their customs and beliefs are generally accepted.

We cannot survive as a nation if our immigrants’, our people’s allegiance is to anything other than a secure and prosperous America.

We have no room but for one America - one people; visitors ought not overstay their welcome.
