When Ronald Reagan Rolled In His Grave (Chuck Norris: Principles Are Important Alert)
Worldnetdaily.com ^ | 11/12/2007 | Chuck Norris

Posted on 11/12/2007 6:32:13 AM PST by goldstategop

I'm not one to go down easy – never have been. Not on my watch! I call upon the conservative army across this nation to rise up and fight the tides of compromise and liberalism by standing strong on the core issues and showing its true colors now!

In the spirit of Ronald Reagan, "You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We will preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we will sentence them to take the first step into a thousand years of darkness. If we fail, at least let our children and our children's children say of us we justified our brief moment here. We did all that could be done."

Now let's win one more for the Gipper! Vote Huckabee in '08!

Whatever one thinks of Chuck Norris' support for Mike Huckabee, he's right about one thing: we have ceased being faithful to the ideals Ronald Reagan believed in and stood for when we sacrifice conservative principles for the sake of political expediency. We will NEVER win by out-liberaling the liberals. We will win only by being true to "the last best hope of man on earth." Let's do that by nominating a conservative candidate in '08 and let's win one more for the Gipper!

The only problem I have with Huckabee is his support of illegal immigration. So if I have a choice between any Dem and Huckabee, I’ll hold my nose and support Huckabee as long as I can put true anti-illegal Senators and Representatives in place.

Those who think electability matters more than principle will reap what they sow next November. As Chuck says: "What doth it profit a man to win the election but lose his soul?" Nothing.

All we need to do to win big in 2008 is get a nominee that unifies the conservative base. That’s it. Hillary’s only shot would be if Bloomberg ran. If it’s a choice between the conservative nominee and the idiot the conservative nominee will win hands down.

Well lets see:

Mitt doesn’t have principles except whatever it takes to win

Giuliani is way too liberal

Huckabee is an open borders, tax n spend, nanny stater

McCain is also open borders.....and nuts

Duncan aint going anywhere

So Fred is the one, its that simple.

The Liberals want the Illegal Aliens to become citizens to increase their voter base. Huckabee will give it to them.

Thompson my choice. Hunter, Huckabee are fine by me as well. The problem right now is that our vote is split, and Romney’s extreme million dollar makeover appears to be paying off big time. And of course Rudy’s for some strange reason has fooled 25% of the party into believing he can beat hillary. So I believe conservatives need to pick one guy over the next few weeks, unify around them and win this nomination. At the end the month Thompson, Hunter and Huckabee should hold a conference call and decided amongst themselves who’s got the best chance to win the nomination.

If we keep looking for another Ronald Reagan, we’ll keep getting disappointed like Diogenes and his lamp. There may be one out there, but he’s not running. Politics of the day in too PC and anyone who would run must face, as Rush calls it, “The greatest anal exam in history.” There are some good candidates on the Republican side, and some bad. If you keep holding up the pattern of Ronaldus Magnus to check the candidate for “fit”, you will continuously be rejecting the product in favor of the mold. Everyone here on FR has their favorite candidate, from Ron to Rudy, and everything that fits in between. If we assume that one of these men will eventually become the standard bearer of the Conservative movement in this country, yea in this World, then we should adhere to Reagan’s eleventh commandment, “Thou shalt not speak ill of thy fellow Republican.” There’s a reason he said that. All of the candidates have their flaws, and all come short of the glory of Ronald Reagan. Some will come close and some not at all. Divisiveness and mudslinging against someone who may become your next President will only add fuel and ammo to the Left’s arsenal. I try to refrain from criticizing any Republican candidate on any issue. Read their positions, check their past performance and make my decision as to whether this one or that one would be better for the mantle of Leader of the Free World. Cutting and slicing the others of your party to pieces is of little use when you face a united front of socialism. These same men you may later depend upon for advice or a cabinet position. It would not make political sense to derogate a person only to later praise him as the best one suited for the job you now wish to bestow upon him. Celebrity endorsements are fine, we have them on the Left and the Right, but they are just the same as yours or mine, an opinion of one person, nothing more. There are many out there who say, “If so-and-so gets the nomination, I’m not voting!” Well, fine, don’t vote for so-and-so, but you better believe that no matter who on the Left gets the nod, they will turn out in force to support their candidate, even if they cannot stand the person. They get it. It’s all about power and keeping it in their hands or grabbing it from yours. So, be careful out there and don’t swing your sword like a flailing windmill. Keep you eyes on the target and a slow steady pull, and you may have to hold your nose as well as your breath................

I have huge respect for Chuck Norris- a good man. But “Reagan” and “Huckabee” don’t belong in the same sentence, unless it’s for contrast.

I wonder if Chuck Norris will run for President someday in the far future. Maybe a Chuck Norris/(VP) Arnold Swarzenagger (and Clint Eastwood for chief of Dept. of State) Hollywood dream team?

When the choice is between a 7.5 on the liberal scale and a 10 on that scale, it’s not really a choice. Voting for a Republican liberal will only solidify the liberal philosophy in the GOP and in the mainstream of this nation. Voting for a Rep liberal is not a “lesser evil” in the long run— it’s a recipe for ruin. Whether we run toward socialism or jog there, same result. Conservatives folks aren’t playing that game anymore. The GOP needs to go through some growing pains, or we need a third party.
