"... U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao said workers with a bachelor's degree or higher average almost twice what workers with just a high school diploma earn weekly. Workers with a bachelor's degree or higher average $1,393 per week and have an unemployment rate of 2%, while workers with a high school diploma average $704 and have a 4.3% unemployment rate..."

All ten jobs listed above are described in a slide show presentation.

Truckers make six figures?

If that’s the case, it’s no wonder there are businesses that want Mexican drivers.

LOL! ...too late! Corporates and their university helpers ran too many heterosexual men out of English programs a long time ago. I would rather crush you in competition than support you as a slave. Besides, your office social environments are unhealthy.

Aircraft controller? It should be Air Traffic Controller. The only ones who control aircraft are pilots.

If you want to be an air traffic controller (which is a good job if you have the personality for it) you need either to attend the FAA school on your own (which is basically college) or be a militay-trained controller. You can’t just answer an add in the paper.

In New York, if you want to be a funeral director (another good job if you have the personality for it), you need to complete an internship, which I’ve been told is impossible in most areas, unless you have family or another connection, because the funeral directors’ don’t want the competition. I don't know about the others.

“On-the-job or online training will provide the necessary qualifications.”

For some IT positions, yes. I haven’t polled them all, but I know of no highly-paid software developers or systems architects who do not have a degree, to include rather costly subsequent certification and training. As more and more universities are offering degrees that specialize in things like web development and other IT positions, employers are more interested in hiring applicants with degrees in those positions.

We have brought in several young people (19 to 23) with either no degree or a degree in unrelated fields and begun to give them on-the-job and online training, but they’re not making anything remotely close to $100,000 and never will.
