George Osmond, father of the famous singing family, The Osmonds, has died.

Osmond passed away Tuesday morning in Utah.

He was 90 years old.

A cause of death was not immediately available.

The death was first reported by "Entertainment Tonight's" Web site and was confirmed by The Associated Press through a spokeswoman for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, of which Osmond was a member.

Donny Osmond was in the "Entertainment Tonight" studio getting ready to tape a segment for a show when he learned of his father's death.

Marie Osmond performed Monday night on "Dancing With the Stars."

I know it's a formality to say so but, the man was 90 years old, for pete's sake. He didn't die hang gliding off of the Point of the Mountain, that's for sure. Jeez!

Anyway, this is sad news. My condolences to the family.

This season of "Dancing with the Stars" has had it's drama. Jane Seymour had a relative die, her horse ranch was threatened by the fires in So. Cal., she was injured and Marie passed out. If I were a remaining contestant, I would be upping my life insurance about now.

This is horrible news. She danced for her father and mother on Monday night’s show. I know her mother passed away last year or so. I hope she has the strenght to get through this.

Anyway, I go to the flow’r feller, and get her flow’rs, and a card. And he asks me what this is for. And I tell him my grandma just passed away, hundred and four years old. And he says, “Ooh, a hundred and four? How’d she die?” How’d she die; she’s a hundred and four! She wrecked her Harley up there at BikeWeek! Here’s your sign!

I really like the Osmonds, Donny and Marie.
My sympathy to them on the loss of their father, George.
God bless his soul.

Cause of death? Let’s see...

When he was 17, he went through a rebellious streak for an hour and smoked one cigarette. Therefore, he died of smoking. (Just thinking like a liberal here.)

Seriously, he raised a family of good people. I don’t know him personally, but I’m guessing he was a good man.

DWTS was the first thing I thought of too. Lots of sad events occurring on this year’s season. Prayers and thoughts go out to the Osmonds, as well as for Jane Seymour’s family.

"Marie Osmond performed Monday night on "Dancing With the Stars."

That's probably what caused the old man to have the big one.

Looks like Marie is losing a lot of weight; and is looking pretty hot. Jane Seymour doesn't seem to be too enthused the last few shows. May be sadness over the death of her mother. I think Jane is going to be eliminated tonight if talent is the basis of elimination. I was shocked that the gal last week was eliminated. She was one of the best 2-3 contestants.
