WATERVILLE, Maine -- Police said a white man's verbal assaults on a black man last month amounted to a hate crime.
According to police, Ralph Taylor pointed to his "white power" tattoo while taunting the black man on Oct. 20 and 21. The tattoo featured dual lightning bolts, a symbol associated with Adolf Hitler's SS corps.

What if the black guy was wearing his NWA shirt? Good band, but reportedly NWA means either “No whites allowed” or “N-word with attitude”. What if the white guy was just responding to that shirt with his lightning bolts?
Is it like the NFL, do the 2 hate crimes offset themselves? Or does the white hate crime count for 15 yards and the black hate crime count for 10 yards?
Was the black guy Jewish?
Now I'm not saying Hitler was pro-black -- hell, neither was our country at one time. But anti-black is the last thing I think of when I see the SS symbol.
Obviously, the genius who wrote this article can't tell the difference between "lightning" and runes. Sheesh.

Students are made to feel great about how poorly they’re doing in schools these days. What a country.
Doesn't matter if the case gets thrown out, they just ensured that the guy they arrested will spend thousands in legal fees to defend himself over this
Does that say “Magic Man” or Magic Juan”, I can’t tell.
In Taylor’s defense, I must point out that the double lightening bolts were stolen by Hitler from “Flash Gordon” movies. They also showed up in “Star Wars,” “Mary Poppins,” the “Our Gang” series, and in “Dumbo, Speaker of the House”.....

I would not say that it constitutes a crime, but if he had pointed to the tatoo and then physically threatened or hurt him then it would cross the line and be classified as a crime. The neanderthal in question is indeed in spirit a hateful person, who probably thrives on this twisted logic of his to justify his being. I have been on the receiving end of these racist rants: hey gook, chink, jap - you love long time? Plus my younger sister recently was on a receiving end of a racist rant from a white neanderthal - he blocked her in a shopping center parking lot and she kindly asked him to move, to which he replied: no, you f-—ng gook - little did he know that we were Japanese-Irish. My Father, may he rest in peace never wanted to hear about these incidents - he would always brush it off and say to get over it. I would respectfully disagree, because hateful words hurt and they wound deeply. Do I hate the white part of me, no but I get very frustrated and hurt when these ugly incidents happen. My Mother who is Japanese was told once by a very ignorant white person to go back where she came from and she has been in this country for over Fifty years!!!!!!! Where does this hateful ignorant racism come from? Where?????????/Just Asking - seoul62.......
