Oh jeez, Timmy get’s all self-righteous over a comment Thompson made about Osama being more of a symbol than anything else.

“People who lost loved ones on 9/11 see him as more than just a symbol.” Puke, Timmy.

Have to admit I have never heard of the Globe as a British publication I thought it was either US or Canadian maybe I am wrong.

I would consider the Star and sometimes parts of the Sun similar to your National Enquirer and what I thought of as the Globe though probably Sunday Sport with its almost spoof news items is nearer. Also the News of World on Sunday is pretty trashy with sex scandals etc.

I just watched Thompson’s whole thing on MTP. It’s on early here in NJ due to the NY marathon. I don’t want to say what I thought of it.

So why mention it?

“Thompson needs an ace on Timmuh’s show...”

I’ve only got two problems with that statement:

1) I’d expect even-handed treatment of any person to the right of Mao by FatTimmy in the same time frame as a blizzard forecast for Hell, so Thompson would have to bat a thousand just to get a draw out of this.

2) After noting this (stolen wholesale from a previous poster):

“NBC MEET THE PRESS....3,548,000 (-306,000)
CBS FACE THE NATION...2,262,000 (- 50,000)
ABC THIS WEEK.........2,207,000 (-356,000)
FOX NEWS SUNDAY.......1,691,000 (+ 45,000)

Compared to the week prior, Fox is up, and the others are down, way down.

Also, initial ratings for the October 28 cable replays:

FOX NEWS SUNDAY.........748,000 (+117,000)
NBC MEET THE PRESS......228,000 (- 47,000)”

....I’ve really got to wonder if Thompson DID get that ace you’re talking about, there would be anyone but the odd FReeper or DBM junkie to take note of it. Kinda like the old gag about the tree falling in the forest but making no sound because nobody was there to listen.....

All that being said, I’d delight in Thompson walking out of that interview with Timmah’s head in a brown paper bag, and I think he’s just the guy to do it if provoked. (The other person who could is Bush, but he wouldn’t waste the time to deal with a bottomfeeder like Timmah.)

For one thing in Britain abortion would not be considered a conservative or liberal/labour issue but a moral issue.

Thanks much Morgan!

If the number is accurate or even close,it could change a lot of minds on just how important border security really is.

Walsh used conservative stats. I read elsewhere where border agents told him as many as 7 get away for everyone they catch and he only used 3.

One of the sad things about the entire fiasco is that both parties are guilty of not securing the borders and it needs to change and soon.

Some pubbie politicos want the cheap labor and are not afraid of violating US law to get it along with the supposed campaign contributions that go with it.

The other side is even more devious.

The rats are already frantically trying to get as big a percentage of the 32 million legal Hispanic vote as they can and if the number of illegals swells to 38 million who knows how many of them will get Spitzer type ID's or the equivalent and how many will vote. Anything is possible with devious dem/rats at work. We don't dare turn our back on them.

Hmm... and these are the same types that will say if we finally catch the SOB that “it doesn’t mean a thing, he wasn’t really running al-Qaeda anymore.”

Hypocrites.

No, Russert wasn’t that bad, at least compared to my expectations of him. He tried to jab about the “kids with IUDs”, but he wasn’t that aggressive at all.

I thought Fred was weak. He didn’t get pummelled. He just didn’t impress. And I’m not sure how some people are going to like his answers on certain things. I’m curious to see what everyone’s reaction will be.

I can understand that with Americans but us Brits has to suffer his socialist welfare hand out programs on the home front whilst on other issues he seemed almost right wing.

I always believe at the end of the day he jumped to where he got the biggest publicity and the person that could assist him in the future and ensure that he would continue to be in the public eye long after he left office.

By keeping close to GWB he probably did achieve things that he believed in and would never have achieved as leader of the Labour Party but also landed himself his current position of middle east envoy.

Do I sound cynical yes but with our bunch of politicians I am not surprised I do.

I agree Gritty, the thing is if we can figure this out it would be a bit naive to think the govt. does not know as well! How in the heck(and I cleaned that one up) can they justify lying to us all this time!

I don’t think Timmy was very aggressive. He tried a jab with the “kids with IUDs” remark, but overall he didnt attack much at all. I thought Fred was not impressive, and may have messed up some answers. Waiting to see what everyone thinks.

Yeah the list was a joke. Any listing of Most Influential American Conservatives that lists Rush Limbaugh as number 4 or 5 doesn’t have a clue. Rush is by far the most Influential Conservative in the USA today. He is the only one that can move large numbers of the various Conservative factions in the same direction. Some Conservative may have more influence with this group or that group but take as a whole, no one has the impact of Rush Limbaugh

I agree but I do not think he sees it that way I think he probably thinks that it reflects and tarnishes the rest of his career and wants to clear his name.
