I am publicly stating who I support for the 2008 Republican nominee for President, California Representative, Duncan Hunter. Why? The reasons are many but the primary underlying reason is, he better than any other candidate, be they Republican or Democrat, at understand the world landscape both economically and politically. His over all goal is a stronger more protected America.
Hunter, more than any other name on the ballot, is a student of history, not just recent history, he, as they say, sees the big picture. Unlike politicians of the past who have given away the American Dream as a good faith gesture to the world, Hunter wants to protect what is ours. On a regular basis, we always seems to be the ones extending the olive branch to the world only to have it stepped on.
In recent weeks he has spoken out harshly about the Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST) as it gives US sovereignty of the sea to (gulp) the UN. Hunter stated that:
“It is imperative that our nation does not surrender decision making power for military navigation or resource extraction, especially in this age of terrorism with technology and weapons proliferation. And adding a new set of UN bureaucrats with license to tax and adjudicate disputes is the last thing this country needs.” … ”Rest assured no treaty that infringes on the sovereignty of the United States, or further empowers the United Nations, will get anything but a trip to the waste basket in a Hunter Administration.”
See what I mean? This guy “gets it”!
He is the only candidate who consistently sees China as someone we should be cautious of, while everyone else sees China as a former Communist nation on the brink of democracy. Other see their exploding market as a potential for American big business to blossom, while Hunter sees the same thing, he is thinking of America first, the business executives second.
Just today he released a press release in which he publicly calls on Mitt Romney, founder of Bain Capital and Republican presidential candidate, to put an end to a business deal with a Chinese company who is negociating for the acquisition of US defense conractor 3COM. The kicker here is that the founder of this company is an officer of the Peoples Liberation Army of Communist China and is being accused of providing Saddam Hussein with the technology to target US aircraft and helping the Taliban develop surveillance equipment.
Hunter said to Romney in writing;
“I am extremely concerned that Governor Romney’s company would tout a highly suspect Chinese corporation as a strategic partner,” stated Hunter. “Forming a business partnership with a corporation known to have direct ties with terrorists and dictators while, at the same time, openly seeking to acquire a major U.S. corporation that performs vital cyber security work for the Department of Defense, can only be characterized as irresponsible.”
What other candidate would step out and do the right thing like this? Duncan Hunter does his homework, that is what will make him a very effective POTUS. This wasn’t a political ploy, this was Hunter looking out for America, for you and me.

The more you read about him, the more, I am sure, you will realize that he sees things the way most Amiercans do.
We desperately need a Rudy Scream like the famous Dean Scream - or something comparable. Giuliani is winning a popularity contest.
It is time America turned her back on the msm, for their agenda is showing. Step into the light and survey the field of Presidencial Candidates. Survey the msm, and look at who they push, and push, and push. Being in the light and surveying the field gives each American an eyefull, and grants full witness of the truth.
May God help us, May God help America, May God grant his mercy upon us that we will be warriors for the truth, and warriors for a Man of Truth, Mr. Duncan Hunter....Amen.

How so? Look at all the RINO’s currently in office. Have they really done anything more than the Dem’s?
A RINO, or “moderate” will set the bar for the next election. Do we really want the bar set at gun grabbing, baby killing, homosexual agenda rights, lawyer loving candidates? That dear will be the end of the GOP.
All we will accomplish by being a “moderate party” is move our country farther left. Republicans will become Dem’s and Dem’s will become socialists. It is a deliberate move by some in both parties, and one I will not participate in.
Go ahead and nominate one of the “top tier” chosen for you by the MSM aka liberals. Not me.

Those are very important issues, but there are other. I know he hits the the others, but these two overshadow all else he discusses. He needs to be more versatile for the big show.

Two problems with Guiliani are, one, some people still aren’t paying attention. They see him as “America’s Mayor” who led New York on 9/11. They don’t realize that he is liberal on abortions, gay marriage, guns, and immigration. Not to mention he has a train wreck of a personal life and baggage that is so large someone has to help him carry it. Two, he has the support of the country club and log cabin Republicans. The votes for conservative candidates are split among other candidates (not that I personally consider them all conservative). I think conservatives have to find a solid candidate to get behind because otherwise the votes will split and go to Guiliani. I believe Duncan Hunter is that candidate.
Fred Thompson = 8 years political experience.
Duncan Hunter = 3X that with 26.
That’s it! I can’t vote for anyone who has absolutely no Nielsen ratings!
Just for this thread, that is my pledge. :) We can’t have those who bravely jumped on the media poll bandwagon, having their principles questioned and their feelings hurt.
My time could be better spent making my “Bo Derek for Secretary of Equidae” posters. Still, a promise is a promise.

We have our share of them. I do think most people mean well but they seem to be operating more out of fear of Hillary and/or Rudy than out of strength in conservative principles. I have a good friend who cannot see the bright side of anything, always total gloom and doom. According to him, Hillary has already won.
Why I like Duncan Hunter is that he embodies everything I look for in a STRONG conservative candidate. There is no ifs, ands or buts with him. I don’t have to worry if he is really going to do what he says or if he is just going through election year posturing. I can’t say that for the rest.

Hey jonesie! China and illegal immigration are probably the most immediate problems we face right now, other than the war on terror.
Rep. Hunter is privy to far more information about our problems than the average man, who gets his/her news pretty much as the leftist MSM spoons it out - well spun and highly selective.
Duncan Hunter is our Paul Revere, our Minuteman, AND our George Washington of the day, all rolled into one amazing man. Conservatives have no other choice.
BTW, your mathematics is misleading. Thompson has more than "8 years" of political experience.
Tick the msm off, one good time, vote for a person the media is not pushing.....make up your mind to reject the msm and their candidates. But maybe one wants a candidate the media is pushing....and maybe one believes that is the best candidate in the race.....I beg each who believe this way to look.....look at where the media is attempting to lead America.....look at the candidates (closely) the media is pushing.....and when all is said and done...true change only comes by making a change. Does America want Change or does America want more of the same?
