PHOENIX (AP) The nation's largest nuclear power plant was put on lockdown Friday after a contract worker entered the facility with something that security was "not comfortable with," a spokesman said.
Security officials detained the worker at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station and were conducting an investigation. The incident was considered an "unusual event" the lowest of four emergencies the plant can declare, said Jim Melfi, an inspector with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
Officials did not say what the worker brought to the plant. There was no threat to the public, said Palo Verde spokesman Jim McDonald.
Palo Verde, operated by Arizona Public Service Co., is the nation's largest nuclear power plant both in size and capacity. Located in Wintersburg about 50 miles west of downtown Phoenix, the plant supplies electricity to about 4 million customers in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and California.

Not comfortable with...?
Knowing security...he was carrying ‘common sense’....
Must have been a “Vote For Hillary” poster that he brought in!LOL
His car? Maybe it was one of those hybrids.
Well, we know it’s not the ROP. If the driver was Ahmed Mohammed, the FBI would have already declared “not terrorism related”.
Or a copy of the Koran.
KFYI just said he had a capped pipe with a suspicious substance inside.
A suicide vest?...............

A green leafy substance?..............

I’m curious about the nationality or hyphenated nationality of the contract worker.
My son lives in Phoenix. I hate this.
I just hope the nuclear explosion blows away from Tucson, so I have time to flee.
There reportedly is a security situation at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station, which is about 55 miles west of Phoenix.

Sounds like amateur hour terrorism.
