One of thousands of minks set loose in Germany, 26 October. German conservationists have condemned the release of some 17,000 minks from a fur farm, apparently by animal rights activists, saying they are likely to starve in the wild and could disturb the ecological balance in the region.(AFP/File/Jens Schlueter)

Um hello? Minks are wild animals, they're SUPPOSED to live in the wild! They survived thousands of years out in the elements, they'll be fine. It's what they naturally do, you know? Sheesh, you could at least get a degree in biology before you go mouthing off about animal welfare.

"These animals are going to die of hunger." Small price to pay as long as a bunch of activists get to feel self-righteous, which is the important thing.

"...These American minks are going to upset the balance of the eco system. They will not be able to survive because they have not learnt to hunt..."Brilliant. I wonder how getting squashed by cars is "going to upset the balance of the eco system."
