A 20-year-old man died Sunday afternoon after being ejected from the bed of the truck as it rolled twice one mile south of Rachal in Brooks County.
Miguel Angel Suarez, 20, of San Miguelito in Querétaro, Mexico, was among 12 undocumented immigrants traveling in the bed of a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup about 2 p.m. as it traveled eastbound on County Road 307 at a high rate of speed.
The driver lost control of the vehicle after hitting loose gravel, causing the vehicle to veer off into a ditch. The pickup struck a fence line and rolled twice, ejecting the 12 passengers from the bed of the truck.
The driver fled from the accident at mile marker 734. Suarez was pronounced dead at 3:20 p.m.
The passengers were transported to area hospitals.

In Florida, it’s legal to ride in the back of a pickup. But illegal to NOT wear a restrain INSIDE the vehicle.
Your gubment at work.
And, George W. Bush would be all too happy to grant them citizenship, give them US Social Security benefits (for them and their family back home in Mexico) and point them to the banks where they can sign their home loan papers.
It’s Bush’s fault. If the border wall had been constructed, this illegal would not have died.
Yes, but you are still stuck with their hospital bills. Jorge will probably let them stay in the country just encase the catch the driver in ninety nine years are so they can the testify against him.
Imagine being in that ER, after waiting who knows how long, you’re just about to be seen, and in come a dozen injured illegals. You might as well go home.
Hey, Miguel Angel Suarez, if you were still alive, life is a beech (as they say in Panama).
Who pays? People with medical insurance and the taxpayers, of course.
“Imagine being in that ER, after waiting who knows how long, youre just about to be seen, and in come a dozen injured illegals. You might as well go home.”
Imagine if you are an American and had a major heart attack...
The line jumpers would be seen and you would still be waiting or dead...
I never came close to dying after being ejected from a pickup bed-—but I did think she was overdoing the feminism bit.
