Would you advocate third party or stay home if Huckabee is the candidate?
October 28,2007 | Ebmiller

There is great hostility to Govenor Huckabee by many freepers. Since Rasmussen is including Huckabee in the daily tracking poll, it seems he is gaining some traction. I am curious since many on this site have grave doubts about a Huckabee presidency, how many would go to a third party or would just stay home?

If Huckabee is the candidate, I would still prefer him to Hillary or Obama. Same with Giuliani, Romney or any other Repub Candidate except Paul.

If Huckabee is the candidate, I’d advocate voting for Huckabee.

Obviously, any sane person would vote for Huckabee. He's no John McCain (shutter...) and he's CERTAINLY not a pro-abortionist, pro-radical gay agenda, pro-illegal alien, anti-second amendment serial adulterer liberal lawyer like Rudy Giuliani.

But there is no way that Huckabee is going to be the nominee. So, this is kind of a silly question. He can enjoy his day in the sun, his very brief look at low double digits, but it will be short-lived.

You don’t state your reasons why - which is typical mentality of the Democrats. You just throw it out there and hope it sticks to the wall.

Look...this is real simple, the MSM and the Dems are NEVER going to allow anybody named Huckabee to be POTUS. He will be painted as a former fat, southern racist who now has flip flopped his way to the GOP nomination.

It’s not gonna happen.

Fair Tax. This is good.

The immigration part of his platform, well, we can always pray for gridlock.

But I would vote for him on the basis of the FairTax alone.

I’ve got nothing against Huck,
(whoever he is),

but I would prefer a nominee that has
a chance of winning.

Thank you for this insult. Keep it for yourself. I guess it's obvious that my potential support for Huckabee, Giuliani or Romney, should one of them get the nomination, is based on "anyone but a Dem" or "the lesser evil" scheme of thinking.

This is getting absurd. What a bunch of whiny crybabies. We’re all throwing temper tantrums by saying that unless OUR guy is the candidate we’re going to stay home and throw the election to Hillary. Hillary must love this childishness.

I would... but only to stop Clinton. That said... I’d be thoroughly disgusted with the Republican party and its rejection of true, conservative candidates.

I am pretty sure that I will vote for who ever is the GOP candidate. I have a lot of trouble with Giuliani but anybody but Hilly. Amen.

I’ve never missed voting in election in 50 years but I won’t vote for a RINO and will write in Mickie Mouse for that particular office and that includes the Huckster.

My apologies. I misread your comment. Although it will be hard for a conservative to vote for someone like Giuliani, it’s a sad state of affairs that we now have to go to the polls to vote for the lesser of two evils, which wouldn’t be the first time. However, with Giuliani, we would no longer be the Republican Party.

Again, my apologies.

Could people just grow up?
The next election is deadly serious business.
A vote for a “third party” candidate is just a way of guaranteeing a coronation for Shilery.

In the 2004 election, Conservatives were so angry that they didn't even bother to go to the polls. Some even voted for Democrat candidates in their anger. "Yes siree! We conservatives are going to show those Republicans!"

So what did we get? A Democrat Congress and a Speaker of the House who, if you can believe after the House Chaplain says his opening prayer, crosses herself????

Incredible!
