Iraq Sees Dramatically Low Death Toll
Brietbart.com ^ | October 13, 2007

The civilian death toll in Iraq fell to its lowest level in recent memory Saturday, with only four people killed or found dead nationwide, according to reports from police, morgue officials and credible witnesses. Saturday marked the beginning of the Eid al-Fitr feast for Shiites, the three-day capstone closing out the Ramadan month of fasting. Sunnis began celebrating the holiday on Sunday.

The daily number of civilians killed, not including those on days when there were massive casualties from car bombs, had climbed above 100 at the end of last year and the beginning of 2007.

Saturday's decline in deaths was in line with a sharp drop in September of both Iraqi civilian and U.S. military fatalities.

The four dead included three death squad victims found in Baghdad and the bodyguard of the Kirkuk police commander who was killed in a roadside bombing.

Can we get some Democrats on the record about the Presidents successful surge plan now?

GOP Shout it from the rooftops.... If the Democrats had their way we would be redeployed, Iraq would be a bastion of Al-Qaida Terror camps, killing fields and Iranian run militias in charge of selling off all the Iraqi Oil to China and Russia.

Democrats cannot be trusted they are on the wrong side of history ... yet again

Hell, yeah. The place is much safer than New Orleans or Philadelphia. Probably others.

Rather lower than California. Interesting.

Shhhhhhh. We can't report this. It would ruin the day of too many Democrats to think America is actually winning. Be vewy vewy qwiet.

(FWIW, when I read a few months ago that the local Al Qaeda chief was calling for a six-month cease-fire in order to regroup - a story that also received scant U.S. media coverage - I knew we were making significant progress. You don't call for a cease-fire unless you are getting your butts kicked.)

15 rules for understanding the Middle East
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1774248/posts

Rule 10: Mideast civil wars end in one of three ways: a) like the U.S. civil war, with one side vanquishing the other; b) like the Cyprus civil war, with a hard partition and a wall dividing the parties; or c) like the Lebanon civil war, with a soft partition under an iron fist (Syria) that keeps everyone in line. Saddam used to be the iron fist in Iraq. Now it is us. If we don’t want to play that role, Iraq’s civil war will end with A or B.

Don’t get too excited. The rats will take credit. You see they forced Bush to act more aggressively and forced the Iraq’s to behave by threatening to pull out.

>>>Victory cannot be hidden.<<<

Jveritas, there is a wonderful essay in the American Thinker entitled "Buried Victories" by J.R. Dunn - dated October 16th.

It's a great article chronicling attempts by the left to belittle and nullify U.S. victories throughout history - and the problems it has caused. It also talks about why victories must be crushing, total, celebrated and triumphal!

Worth a read!!
