One man was out ahead on this. Yes, the usual guy. No I think there has been more than one candidate opposed to LOST. Ron Paul for example, who has been repeatedly submitting bills to end US involvement in the UN for years.

You are right about the senate, of course. However, I can assure you if Duncan Hunter were president, this LOST nonsense wouldn’t even be coming up.

"I oppose the ratification of the Law of the Sea Treaty at this time," Thompson said.I'm pleased Thompson is opposing it. But his words are weasely--"at this time." The more I see of him, the less I like him.

The up side. If this passes and the US is ever blockaded, I could live my dream of being a pirate AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGH!What would a female pirate called should I ever get into that line of work? lol
Speaking of blockade, did you hear about this new Cuba initiative?
New UN initiative against the blockade circulating

LOST provides an independent funding mechanism for the UN. Unless you want the UN to be even less accountable than it already is, LOST has to go down.I hope everyone here reads your post, also lurkers. It must go down.

It’s a global tax pure and simple. Next would come the Tobin tax. Increments, it’s always in increments.

I wish GWB would have fought as hard to fix SS as he did when he tried to ram amnesty and now the UN down our throats.

These left wing initiatives never really die do they? They just keep getting coming up over and over again until they pass. LOST should have died in the 80’s.

I am surprised at Trent Lott. I wonder how McCain will vote.
I notice no mention of the Texas senators. Time to call and apply pressure.
We only need 34 votes to kill this. Call your senators today.

“Sad case when Bush has to be repeatedly hit on the head by the conservatives. After 7 years he and his advisers dont get the message.”
I think they get the message... but they disagree. When it comes to US sovereignty Bush is a total liberal. Clinton sold us to China, Bush sold us to Mexico. This is exactly what I expect from him. He is pathologically opposed to any kind of border at all... except for the fence that surrounds the White House.

Those three words sent me into a tizzy yesterday on a Fred thread. I was not welcomed there at all.

Come on FReepers, let's light up that switchboard...
My Senator, Senator Kyl, is well aware of my stance on LOST, I will be writing to thank him for his fight against it. I will encourage him to keep fighting!

Then we'll keep fighting it again and again. The L.O.S.T. treaty ratification has an expiration date------2009!!!!!!!
I'm afraid what Bush will do as one of his last acts before he leaves. Executive Orders scare the hell outta me.

“However, candidates Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney have not taken a stand.”
Rudy does not want to admit hes for it and Romney wont stand for anything until he grows a spine..
