It also urged people to call their Senators to oppose the pact by calling a toll-free number to the Capitol switchboard 1-800-828-0498.Come on FReepers, let's light up that switchboard, It isn't too late yet to kill this.
There's still time to stop the hand-off of 70% of the earths surface to the un.

the pact, supported by the Bush Administration and the liberal leadership in the Senate An all-too-common state of affairs.

One man was out ahead on this. Yes, the usual guy.
#13. Do you support the Law of the Sea Treaty? If not, will you revoke it if it passes before you take office?
Hunter: No, in the past I have opposed the Law of the Sea Treaty. I expect that to continue. There are serious issues of sovereignty involved, and as in the past, I have no intention of letting US sovereignty be eroded.

A total wrap.
Meanwhile, President Bush took advantage of "United Nations Day" by issuing yet another proclamation in "honor" of the world body. This document called the U.N. a "great institution" and an "important body" that needed some reforms.
Needs reforms? Too late- needs to be torn down and all it's foreign workers kicked out of our country. But first, make them pay their parking tickets.

“Such a decision can only further erode whatever is left of the President’s conservative base.”
I guess we need a show of hands on who supports W any longer.

If Bush wasn’t so good with the WOT I’d join the bandwagon for his impeachment.

Hunter: No, in the past I have opposed the Law of the Sea Treaty. I expect that to continue. There are serious issues of sovereignty involved, and as in the past, I have no intention of letting US sovereignty be eroded. Nice sentiments - I agree with him that it is a horrible idea, and I'm glad he's in favor of retaining our full sovereignty over our territory.
BUT.
What can a member of the House do about it? Nothing except jaw-boning. If the Senate ratifies LOST, then it becomes the law of the land and WE are lost. The Senate is the key. It is nice to hear from people on this, but we need 34 particular people to oppose this.

LOST provides an independent funding mechanism for the UN. Unless you want the UN to be even less accountable than it already is, LOST has to go down.

Senator Inhofe emphasized the danger of the International Seabed Authority developing an independent source of revenue through fees and royalties on U.S. companies seeking access to oil, gas and minerals in international waters. Inhofe said this global tax would make the U.N. even less accountable than it is now. It would make it practically impossible, he argued, for the Congress to withhold money from the U.N. in order to induce reforms or changes in the world body. Why isn't Senator Inhofe running for President?

How can you fight a successful WOT with our borders wide open and no idea of who has passed over them? I'll bet you a dollar to a donut the next big attack that hits us, they will have sneaked across the border to get here.
Is there any further news on the California fires having been deliberately set?

Senator DeMint, a member of the Foreign Relations Committee, said the treaty was defective because while the U.S. would follow it, other nations would not.
Umm didn't know DeMint had such a clear mind...
Thank you Senator... Concise and on target!
