Group waiting for action on Code Pink digs
The Washington Times ^ | October 25, 2007 | Tom Knott

Posted on 10/25/2007 6:33:55 AM PDT by Jimmy Valentine's brother

Kristinn Taylor, co-leader of the D.C. chapter of FreeRepublic.com, is hoping that the city eventually addresses the de-facto hotel/lobbying operation run by the group Code Pink from a residentially zoned five-bedroom row house at 712 Fifth St. NE.

Mr. Taylor's puzzlement is understandable, for the Code Pink provocateurs advertise the apparent zoning violations on their Web site, www.codepink4peace.org.

"The bedrooms vary in size and can house two to four activists in each," the far-left group writes in the D.C. section of the site.

The Code Pinkies say the brownstone can handle as many as 20 activists at a time, which is an apparent violation of the District's zoning laws regarding residential properties.

Mr. Taylor says he and his band of freedom-loving patriots descend on the Code Pink headquarters each Wednesday night to point out the egregious housing violation of a group that has an affinity for Hugo Chavez and Marxist ideology.

"I don't like Code Pink personally," Mr. Taylor said yesterday. "But this housing situation has been so blatant on their part that we felt we should be out there to raise the issue."

SNIP

For now, Mr. Taylor's group is monitoring the crowded living conditions of Code Pink. The city no doubt will pass judgment soon enough.

Hi, when I read emails like yours at work, I recommend that the person go on the internet and use a good search engine like dogpile.com.

Type in the words email etiquette. You would probably like the tips and it may help you to communicate your points better.

I changed my emails entirely after stumbling across the email etiquette page.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

To your points, may I add that the CodePinkos were shouting in the chambers and disrupting, which is clearly not "peaceably" assembling. As for the freedom of speech, the ACLU has widened the definition to include such things as pornography and threatening non-verbal behaviors, but like many overblown bubbles, these ultra-liberal interpretations of "speech" are due for a correction. Especially since the same ACLU has no trouble prohibiting the free exercise of the Christian religion.

Put up or shut up BobJ.

Otherwise, you and your imaginary friends can take a hike.

No need for you to "back off", bob. A lot of wheels are already turning. And they have been for a while now.

Sorry, but we didn't get the OK from you first before we set those wheels in motion.

Next time we'll be sure to get your input.

Or, maybe not.

Funny thing, the entire time I was involved with that effort (which was quit long), I never noticed any “personal funds” coming from either Kristinn or TGSL to help keep FR afloat. To this day I don’t see them on the dollar a day list.

I guess they were happy enough letting others pay for their ride.

Hey Bob... I'm speaking only for myself here...

Nobody ever told me that I was supposed to report to you how much, how little, how often I do or do not donate to FR.

But now that I know I am supposed to report such info directly to you, here it is...

Take a hike, buddy.

Bob, you are making yourself look more foolish with each additional comment you post. I’ve never before seen a person work so hard as you are, to destroy his own reputation and credibility.

I think he already left the island of his own accord long ago; and he just pops up onshore, like seaweed or a jelly fish, now and again to irritate whoever he can.

Then the tide comes in and takes him back out to sea.

I sign off on Thursday and comeback on Friday and I see I missed a major food fight. I didn't realize that the article would be so contentious. Albion’s Post #44 nicely summarized the situation and further comment was not required.

Your gain is our loss.

I suppose it's better for our country's future that she is no longer filling young heads full of mush with her psycho leftist clap trap.

I am so sick of the lies these people tell the public.

You did well by calling.

It’s silly that Congress would think that they don’t have the power to stop the Pinkos from systematically disrupting the workings of American representative government. The aide has probably been told what to say, but Rep. Ros-Leitenin and the other members of both parties should be condemning the attack in no uncertain terms.

If Congress or committees thereof simply banned the Pinkos from attending, the Pinkos would sue, but the outcome is far from certain. If Congress or committees said that order and decorum required Congress to ban the Pinkos, especially those who had previously disrupted, courts would be hard pressed to undo such a ban. Indeed, there is an excellent chance that the ban would withstand Constitutional challenge.

After earlier Pinko misconduct, Senator Barbara Milkulski (Dem-MD) spoke out against what had happened. IIRC, it was after Pinkos’ disgraceful harassment of Defense Secretary Robert Gates and General Peter Pace (in his last testimony as sitting Chairman of the Joint Chiefs). Beyond that, Pelosi and Hillary Clinton are both getting dogged by the Pinkos.

If the Dems get tired enough, they can just pass a rule that whoever disrupts a Congressional hearing or session is banned from entry into the U.S. Capitol, maybe for life or maybe for 5 years. There is no way that a court would overturn that.

Beyond that, a committee chair could simply have people removed from the hearing room if he thinks that the person(s) are planning to disrupt the hearing. For a court to second guess the chairman would be as unlikely as Congress second guessing a Judge’s expulsion of potential disruptors from his court.
