"Yes, yes! Give me your soul or Hillary will become President! You won't miss it, or those disgusting unborn creations of God! After all, would you rather Hillary win?!?!"
"All that matters is winning the 2008 election! Yes, yes.......my work is almost complete in the GOP......Judges are the solution to all of life's problems.....just tell them that and they'll line up like sheep to the slaughter.............my GOP inventory grows with every passing day....."

Sen. Sam Brownback (R-Kan.) is considering endorsing Rudy Giuliani for the GOP presidential nomination and will meet with him Thursday in Washington to hear his views on abortion.
If true, Brownback is brain dead.

I heard him on Mark Levin. He’s an A-1 guy and I would be proud to support him.

Oh, sure. You can interpret it as either Brownback angling for the VP spot (which he is extremely unlikely to get) or his generic willingness to back any Republican candidate without asking too many questions.
The question is, who put the name of Giuliani into the headline, Brownback or this writer? My take on the article is that it was this writer, maybe on the basis that Giuliani is the least likely candidate for a supposed right to lifer to back.
I don’t know why anyone would want his endorsement. It’s delusional to think that religious conservatives would accept his endorsement as cover for a guy like Giuliani.

That’s pretty accurate: mix oil and drinking water and you don’t get drinkable oil, you get ruined drinking water.
To many Conservatives, Brownback has been a shaky convert on the Pro-Life issue. Endorsing Rudy would basically be confirmation of all of their suspicions - that Sam was a convert only because the conventional wisdom says the GOP candidate must be Pro-Life. Now he’ll endorse a Pro-Choice candiate if there’s something in it for him.
This would only hurt Sam, not help Rudy911. All of the sellouts are already in Rudy911’s camp - he’s not going to get more by getting Brownback to feed us the “only Rudy can beat Hillary” line that actually makes us all ANGRIER.

Agreed. Brownback has repeatedly shot himself in the foot, however. It seems to be his M.O.

The question is, who put the name of Giuliani into the headline, Brownback or this writer? It's a good question. Brownback is venal enough to do it. Reporters are dishonest enough to do it.

Oh yes, total veep shopping. Rudy is certainly not a forgone conclusion, BB is just cherry picking for the moment.
But that’s what senators do, compromise. To sell themselves out is their job. It has nothing to do with this or that plank in the platform.

Brownback is crazy if he endorses Rudy.
Rudy keeps pedophiles as friends and employees.

Yes, Lott is pro-amnesty, but he is not likely to run again in 2012; she he gets an MS pass.

So much for Sam’s conservative and traditional principles. Of course today he voted for the Dream Act cloture, too. The dirt always comes out in the wash.

We’ll see just how many people end up voting for Freddie Dalton Thompson. Talk about your unpresidential names!

Switchback is probably angling for VP or planning something sleazy.
It'll be interesting to find out if he plans to meet with any other candidates or does he just want to make a deal with Rudi?

Wow this is news. Just last week I thought that Brownback was saying that Rudy wouldn’t win the GOP nomination, now he may endorse him.
He wants to back a winner early and therefore be considered for a cabinet spot in a possible Guiliani presidency. It may be a smart move.
