READ: Psalm 126
A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones. Proverbs 17:22
A judge has ordered a German man to stop bursting into laughter in the woods. Joachim Bahrenfeld, an accountant, was taken to court by one of several joggers who say their runs have been disturbed by Bahrenfelds deafening squeals of joy. He faces up to 6 months in jail if he is caught again. Bahrenfeld, 54, says he goes to the woods to laugh nearly every day to relieve stress. "It is part of living for me," he says, "like eating, drinking, and breathing." He feels that a cheerful heart, expressed through hearty laughter, is important to his health and survival.
A cheerful heart is vital in life. Proverbs 17:22 says, "A merry heart does good, like medicine." A happy heart affects our spirit and our physical health.
But there is a deeper, abiding joy for those who trust the Lord that is based on much more than frivolity and circumstances. It is a joy based on Gods salvation. He has provided forgiveness of sin and a restored relationship with Himself through His Son Jesus. That gives us a deep joy which circumstances cannot shake (Ps. 126:2-3; Hab. 3:17-18; Phil. 4:7).
May you experience the joy of knowing Jesus Christ today!
I loved your devotional.Having walked in the Taunus Mts on a Sunday afternoon near Bad Homburg..I can imagine the fuss made over noisy laughter..
;o)
Joy Indeed For His Amazing Grace.
Absolutely Meg... What a great story.
I have found that I am finding so many of these to be relevant in our lives as we come close to the end of this election. Keeping Faith, Hope and Trust in the Lord while mankind falls apart around us.
That will sustain you ...I am pulling for you!
Thanks Meg.
Hmmmm.....thinking about snaggin that one.
let me do a little shopping, first. hehe
;) My graphics are your graphics. We all find them somewhere right. :)
mornin’ Mayor.
Salute to our Armed Forces - Past and Present.
took a pic of the 12 Army guys that were honored at our grandson’s homecoming football game on Sat but haven’t figured out how to transfer it from cell phone to my email. Nonetheless, each one received a personal thank you from yours truly before they took their places mid-field on the 50 yard line. Twas a Jr Varsity football game made up of 12 an 13 year olds. Lotsa fun.
Now I’m wondering if those 12 are National Guard or Army reserve and if they have been sent to the southland to aid in the fires.
‘fraid I’ll be scarce around here for a while. Having some problems me and the docs are working on. prayers welcome
Amen, Rus...!! The Word of God refreshes like nothing else... what a wonderful reminder today.
God bless you and all Finest FRiends...
Mega problems, (((Dolly))), that does not sound good.
Let us know if there is some way we can help....?
I truly hope all is not as bad as first thought and can be resolved soon...
Prayers for you, Diver Dave...
Thank you for your “OOops”, Meg...It’s beautiful... We like Ooops, right...:)?
