UPDATE: The city of Malibu is advising residents in Puerco Canyon to begin evacuating due to a wildfire driven by powerful winds. This area is north of Pacific Coast Highway and about 1 mile west of Pepperdine University. Residents along the beach on Malibu Road may soon be evacuated. Pacific Coast Highway is closed between Kanan-Dume Road and Topanga Canyon. Residents are advised to head to the west. Evacuation centers are being set up in the Zuma Beach area.
A wildfire driven by powerful winds in the Malibu Hills this morning threatened a university, destroyed at least one home and forced the evacuation of hundreds more, authorities said.

It is very scary! A fire just broke out in our town in No. San Diego County and the wind is really picking up. Getting ready to go - just in case - since it is so unpredictable.
Good luck fellow San Diegans! Prayers for all in harm's way!
Gosh stay safe redgirlinabluestate.
Thanks for the good wishes. So far we've been lucky. We're west of the Agua Dulce fire and the wind's been blowing away from us. We're under a voluntary evacuation order and our roads out are closed to the south so the only way to go is Palmdale. Our neighbors left but we stayed. We're packed and ready to go if needed, hopefully it won't come to that. Just praying for these damn winds to die down.
stay safe....you too are in my prayers this morning.
Pomerado Hospial in Poway is being evacauted and patients relocated. This is how unpredictable this fire is-—at 0600, I was listening to the news, and the word was, Pomerado Hosp was NOT going to be evacuated. Just in the space of an hour or so..that has all changed.
