(WJZ) BALTIMORE WJZ.COM has learned a fuel truck has been stolen from a gas station in South Baltimore.
Officials say that the truck operator was refilling the gas tubes at a gas station on 3100 block of Vera Street, when a black male, wearing a blue jump suit, got into the driver seat and took off.
Police say the driver tried to get back in the truck, but the suspect pointed a gun at the driver and told him to get out of the truck.
The truck is described as a 1997 Peterbilt with dark wood. On one side it says "Baltimore Tank Lines." There is also a silver trailer attached to the truck.
The truck's Maryland license plate is 436-F45 and the tanker has Maine license plate 126-8185.
There may be some front end damage to the truck, because the suspect struck a fence on his way out.
The truck was last seen heading toward Interstate 95.
The driver was not injured.
LOL! That explains it all now.
That’s interesting. What else did you notice about them and their uniforms?
FOX news is now reporting this one. Oh and Dan? Stick to cooking, don’t be stupid, k?
From this street, he could be on any one of three major highways within minutes. Too easy to be spotted. Lots of industrial area, ports, warehouses. He’s sitting in a warehouse. Probably pissed to find diesel fuel and not gasoline.
Uncle!, lol
Calling out for Mommy are we? Don’t make me get all maternal on you now. It won’t be pretty. PaMom ;-)
He started out and is continuing way north of Ft. Meade....
I've had enough of Britney and some silly story about a guy driving across the country in 30 hours - breaking all kinds of laws in the process. Hemmer and his dolly-bird co-anchor were treating the guy like a hero.
They need to get some grown-ups back in the news room.
Oil Field.
Another excuse to raise taxes?
This one?
What was the capacity of the tanker?
Simple robbery. With the average price of gasoline at over $3, what was the value of the stolen gasoline?
What the thief is likely to do with the proceeds of this theft is really irrelevant.
Only if he's an apprentice thief; or 10 years old.
An experienced hijacker would have another tractor, and stolen license plates (for the trailer) all ready for a fast switch somewhere. It would take less than 10 minutes and would be almost impossible to find.
The stolen tractor would be left (without the tank) at the nearest place where it could be hidden from view.
Hey! I’m back to the land of the living! A kidney infection kicked my butt.
I’m getting better. I’ll see you folks in the lounge later!
I mean found, sp..
How the hell did it get all the way here to Washington DC and thank God this guy was not a terrorist.
Good thing is right, 8 hours later the truck is found in DC. I wonder if the tanker was still full of fuel.
Wow, that's a bunch of trucks! Did they get any of them back, and if so, did they find out who stole them, and what they did with the fuel?
My friend told me the police believe it is tanker companies going after one another.
