WARNING Beware of card-carrying ACLU types like Spitler bleating about "civil rights." "Tolerant and compassionate humanitarians" like Spitler care nothing for the democracy which nurtured them; they care only about advancing their own political ambitions.

ITEM A patriot defending America protested NY Gov. Spitzer's plan to issue drivers' licenses to illegal aliens, was strong-armed, and unceremoniously shoved by a member of the governor's detail at the Columbus Day parade.

IRRATIONAL THINKING IMPOSED ON AMERICA Even scarier, politicians sucking up to illegals are saturating the US political system with the kind of offensive irrational thinking one finds in Mexican and Mideast-type hellholes.

SELF-MOTIVATED POLS TEAR DOWN POLITICAL SYSTEM Spitler (and illegal-enabler Giuliani) dance to the same piper----they are obsessed with tearing down the US political establishment to advance themselves up the political ladder. Spitler and Giuliani are orchestrating a very dirty game played by remorseless people.

There is going to be blood on the hands of Spitzer. Actual citizens of New York are going to get killed by illegal aliens, who could have been found and taken off the streets or highways under the old system.

Whether the NY citizens are killed on purpose in criminal activity, or killed "accidentally" in drunk driving accidents, either way they are just as dead. And just as needlessly. And just as much the fault of Spitzer.

Now the State of New York is no better than the illegal aliens manufacturing phony identification for other illegal aliens. The FAA should immediately cease accepting a New York driver's license as a legitimate form of identification for boarding aircraft. It has lost its value as a state screened verification of U.S. citizenship.

According to Brian Eng, “DMV officers should not be put in a position of having to act like immigration officials.” Isn’t that too bad??!! I guess that what DMV officers should be doing then is harrassing motorists.

By the way Mr Eng, I don’t like employers being put in the position of being tax collectors. What say you??

There's a possibility that this whole scheme can be stopped by simply not funding it. As they say, there's more than one way to skin a cat:

Drivers License Fight Continues

While Senators repeated the concerns that have been voiced for a couple of weeks now: that this would allow terrorists into the country, it’s unfair to legal citizens, and that it was sprung on the state and local county clerks with almost no warning or input, one of the newer developments centered on the possibility that the Senate could stymie this whole plan by simply withholding funding needed to complete it.

That’s because the Phase II (Phase I has already started) entails money-requiring items such as creation of a special inspection unit to examine the passports that illegal aliens would use in lieu of Social Security numbers to get licenses.

Senator Tom Libous, R-Binghamton, for example, suggested they could still be in session in December ‘08, haggling over funding for the plan if the governor doesn’t re-think it. “It needs more thought. It needs more discussion,'’ said Libous, echoing other Republican opponents who urged Spitzer to hold back on the plan.

The last spew from Spitzer:

Spitzer Answers Senate

“Today’s Republican Senate committee hearings make clear that the Senate would prefer I abdicate my foremost responsibility to protect the safety and security of New Yorkers rather than implement a smart DMV policy change that advances both.

“To their credit, Republican Senators “applauded” DMV Commissioner Swarts for the new anti-fraud measures that the DMV has tied to this policy change. Yet despite these vast security enhancements, which will make New York State’s license system the most secure in the nation, Senate Republicans continue to object to the policy simply on the grounds that the administration was restoring an immigrant’s access to a license.

“This policy is not about letting more people into this country. Rather it is a practical approach to dealing with those who are already here because of the federal government’s failure to adequately police our borders. We cannot ignore the reality that when hundreds of thousands of people do not have a driver’s license, it puts everyone in danger, and we can’t ignore the reality that when hundreds of thousands of people live in the shadows it makes our country less safe and law enforcement’s job much harder.”

This fool with his Orwellian speak: "less security makes us safer" cannot get it through his thick skull apparently that most of us are only talking about illegal aliens. Give it up gov, you cannot win this battle. With 72%+ of the public and a growing list of legislators against your scheme you are only prolonging the inevitable.

Spitzer wants to do his part to make is easier for terrorists, foreign drug dealers, etc. He might be on the take. Then again he might just enjoy sticking it to the US.

I've been pushing this idea amongst friends for a long time now...

Illegals want drivers licenses? I say fine. Show the documentation and our DMV offices will print you a drivers license from your home country. Why does it have to be an American drivers license?

I can't believe that, with today's technology, we can't offer other countries our services to remotely print drivers licenses from their countries, providing the people show valid, legal, proof of citizenship of their home country.

With the internet, EDI, XML, and any other sort of data transfer protocals, why can't we interface our systems with others' systems and print a Mexican drivers license in New York for a Mexican citizen living in New York who wants identification? Wouldn't this solve the "undocumented" problem, while at the same time preserving the privileges of citizenship for Americans?

Oh? That's not what you wanted? Your home countries don't like this solution? They don't really want to know about you?

Spitzer has opened himself up to several charges taxpayers may want to pursue.

=================================================

EXHIBIT ONE Gov Spitler is failing to act as required when receiving complaints of known incidences of illegal wrongdoing, and by failing to follow government-mandated regulatory reviews.

This is a violation of Penal Law .135.60 COERCION IN THE SECOND DEGREE (a Class A misdemeanor) (covers public officials).

PENAL LAW 135.60 (Committed on or after September 1, 1967) is Coercion in the Second Degree. When an individual uses or abuses his/her position as a public servant by performing some act within or related to his or her official duties, or by failing or refusing to perform an official duty, in such manner as to affect some person adversely. Perform any (other) act which would not in itself materially benefit1the actor but which is calculated to harm another person materially with respect to his or her health, safety, business, calling, career, financial condition, reputation or personal relationships. The term(s), ("crime"), ("public servant") used in this definition has its own special meaning in our law.

PUBLIC SERVANT means any public officer or employee of the state or of any political subdivision thereof or of any governmental instrumentality within the state, or any person exercising the functions of any such public officer or employee. The term public servant includes a person who has been elected or designated to become a public servant. CRIME means a misdemeanor or a felony.

ACTIONABLE OFFENSES MIGHT INCLUDE:
(1) Encouraging government employees to file false documents; not reporting crimes against the state (aiding and abetting)
(2) Rigging legislation.
(3) Forcing taxpayers to underwrite crimes against the state without their knowledge or consent (constitutes the crime of second degree coercion of taxpayers, and should be prosecuted at once).

=====================================

EXHIBIT TWO If elected state officials, under oath of office, are aiding and abetting illegals to break US laws, to use phony documents at municipal agencies like the DMV (and if Spitler took campaign contributions from said illegals, and in the process, deliberately ignored US laws in exchange for campaign contributions), this could be characterized as extortion, and/or bribery, and a violation of The Hobbs Act.

SOURCE October 1997 Criminal Resource Manual 2403 http://www.usdoj.gov/usao/eousa/foia_reading_room/usam/

===============================================

EXHIBIT THREE During Spitler's 1998 AG campaign, he indignantly denied allegations by his GOP opponent, Dennis Vacco (a top-notch pro-life conservative), that Spitler's wealthy father had provided millions in loans to his AG campaign.

Candidate Spitzer insisted he was using only his own money (family members are limited by law to $110,000 in total contributions) and accused Vacco of "smearing" his father.

Not until he'd actually taken office did Spitzer admit that Dennis Vacco had been correct, after all. In fact, it turned out Spitzer, despite earlier denials, had done the exact same thing during his unsuccessful 1994 run for AG.

NOTE WELL: Now how did the loving Spitzer family convert all that money to sonny's election? The altruistic Spitzer family runs a "do-good foundation." The IRS has noted that some foundations are prime money laundering vehicles that use phony accounting and fake line items like "LEGAL, CONSULTING AND ADMIN FEES" that are tax evasion schemes. Some foundations also put ghost employees on the payroll to skim off monies.

==============================================

EXHIBIT FOUR Many states mandate that public officials be bonded (to indemnify taxpayers against government fraud). The acts outlined above would seriously impair Spitzer's ability to be bonded.

TO REPORT:
(1) NY (as in every state) should have an Insurance Fraud Unit.
(2) The NY State AG's office should have an Insurance Fraud Prosecutor.

I’ll make two bold predictions. Hillary is going to use Spitzer to get the NY Vote from Giuliani. Second, everything Giuliani did to take NYC out of the dump, the new crew of Spitzer and Bloomberg will undo, making NYC more like Detroit, every day. Liberals will of course blame it on something like global warming...

I cannot beleive my eyes and ears regarding NY these days. The empire state building being lit up in observance of Ramadan, then a blatant free pass for illegals to get valid drivers licenses. Is not a state doing this, essentially in violation of existing federal law??

What is it called, when the govt fails to obey the laws of the land, or only uphold laws based upon how they individually feel about the subject at hand. Is that not anarchy?

“Driver’s licenses are not a way to control immigration. Driver’s licenses are issued by the jurisdictions to prove people can drive,” said Tyler Moran, employment policy director of the National Immigration Law Council, which represents and advocates for low-income immigrants.

So this bozo should then agree that the other 49 states and Feds should not recognize NY licenses as valid for identification.
