Spitzer removes "temporary visitor" stamp from driver's licenses of noncitizens
Buffalo News ^ | Tom Precious

Since the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, noncitizens who legally obtained New York State driver’s licenses have been given licenses stamped “temporary visitor” along with the date their visa expired.

No longer.

The Spitzer administration three weeks ago quietly eliminated the state policy that required the special identification stamp on the driver’s licenses for noncitizens who are legally, though temporarily, residing in the United States.

The policy change also eliminated the accompanying expiration date that was intended to show when the person’s legal right to be in the United States ended — raising the chance that a valuable form of identification could remain in the hands of people who want to remain in the country illegally.

Don’t dare light up a smoke anywhere in the state, though-the law will be there instantly.

Guess New Yorkers are anxious to see a repeat (or worse) of what happened 6+ years ago.

This fool should be impeached, tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail.

(Instead he’ll probably be re-elected)

Latino votes are that important to Spitzer? What about his obligations to all the people of the State? Or is he merely another elitist Democrat?

He knows exactly what he’s doing. And he’s giving the public the finger.

I have long thought that after the next 9/11, there will be some sever repercussions against the muslim population in the US; however, actions like this lead to think that that anger would be better directed toward the Sptizers and other enablers who make it all possible.

Just look at this POS tough guy who hounded corporations
Just another corrupt POS Democrat grabbing for votes in an animalistic way
A POS thug
He is encouraging illegal aliens to vote via motor voter and to drive
POS rat bastard

At least when Jorge Bush sells us out to Mexico he does it with some class and Jorge is not a POS like Hillary and Spitzer

No State government has, to my knowledge, ever required or even requested me to show a Driver License (or any other documentation) in order to board an airliner. Nor has a State Government ever required or requested that I show a Driver License in order to buy anything.

Agents of State (and County and City) governments have, however, required that I display a valid Driver License in order to support the privilege of driving.

Unbelievable, you'd never know 9/11 happened in NY. Spitzer even has his mouthpieces in Orwellian speak overdrive to convince us that less security is more security.

Let's not be so sure of that just yet. Somewhere along the line of 75-80% of people here oppose this plan, even in politically blue (but surprisingly ideologically conservative) Erie County.

If the New York Republicans can get restarted by 2010, then there's some hope.
