A Clinton-Obama Quandary for Many Black Women
NY Times ^ | Oct 13, 2007 | KATHARINE Q. SEELYE

Posted on 10/13/2007 12:21:46 PM PDT by rface

S.C.: The beauty parlors are social hubs for black women in the Carolinas, the first Democrat Southern primary.

Clara Vereen considers Obama and Hillary..., "“I’ve got enough black in me to want somebody black to be our president. I would love that, but I want to be real, too.......I fear that they just would kill him..."

And Hillary?

“We always love Hillary because we love her husband.” Then she paused. “A man is supposed to be the head. I feel like the Lord has put man first, and I believe in the Bible.”

In South Carolina, 29% of Democrat primary voters are black women

Obama appears to have a big lead among black men.....Black women are divided between Obama and Hillary. A third are undecided.

In interviews with more than 36 black women most thought their votes would be determined by prayer.

Obama has organized a network around beauty salons...

Betty McClain, 51, said she likes Hillary. “She’s already been president before.” “He was just there. He was just the husband, that’s all. She really ran the country.”

There is almost a maternal concern for Obama’s safety......as a black man he could be killed .......Maria Hewett said she'd vote for Obama despite her fear ....then added, “Hillary’s husband has a lot of wisdom and knowledge, and that will help her.” This elicited another round of “that’s right, that’s true.”

Ms. Cobb-Hunter: “Maybe it’s a Southern thing. They want to protect him from the bad people, and in order to protect him, they won’t support him. They want to see him around, making a difference.”

Ms. Thomas added, “She does have Bill,” whereupon her friend burst into laughter. “I hate to bring him up,” Ms. Thomas said sheepishly, “but I do like Bill, and it’s a way to get him back.”

No she doesn't.

If she did, she wouldn't be voting for psychopathic Democrats.

I wonder how many of these quotes are fiction.

It wouldn’t be the first instance of journalistic license.

This fear of a black president being assassinated is weird. I mean, we’ve never had a WHITE president assassinated have we? /sarcasm

Lets see, two choices:

1. A dedicated Communist with fat legs with a weak resume.

or

2. An articulate teenage with a big smile that happens to have the “right” skin color but a weak resume.

Or they could just do the country a favor and go fishing.

Yeah, it’s hard to square the Bible with the Democrat’s platform and policies. They sound like nice ladies but they’ve just had a lifetime of hollywood-type advertising/hype/brainwashing. Abortion on demand doesn’t bother her? Gay marriage? Maybe she didn’t read the part about Sodom.

Nice racism and sexism amongst the enlightened, tolerant Democratic voters.

So I guess I have enough white male in me not to vote for Clinton or NObomba.

I know that there are people of all races who think Bill was quite the President.  It is however amazing to me how simply some folks are.  They may be good people other than this, but wow.

It is interesting they mention prayer being a part of this.  It has baffled me through the years to see good church attending people be so devoid of moral judgement when it comes to politics.

It’s only a quandary if you do your “thinking” based on the group affiliations you were born into. What a shocking day it would be if most voters in America actually did some thinking instead of going along with the herd or relying on emotions.

Hey, John Edwards all but guaranteed it!

“...pretty soon we’re not going to have a young African-American male population in America. They’re all going to be in prison or dead. One of the two.”

I am a black man who regularly engages in discourse with people in my community as to why the DemocRAT Party is the worst political, social, cultural and historical disaster EVER to befall the black community ouside slavery itself. Even after I get them to acknowledge this essential truth, they remain committed to voting RAT.

The staggering level of political cognitive dissonance amongst my people is frightning.

As far as RACE goes: I am disappointed that Obama is downplaying his white roots.

As far as SEX goes: I am disappointed in Hillary's Testicle Lock Box.

As far as Bill goes: He's still an idiot who molested the help and should stay far away from the White House.

As far as Hillary goes: I wouldn't trust anyone in office with such a poor memory or who is easily deceived by men. These traits are not good for negotiations, diplomacy, or poker.

Don’t feel too bad Frank. I’m Jewish, NRA member, and a Conservative and a military veteran.

I can’t understand why 75 percent of Jews still vote for the Libs, even though anti-Semitism and anti-Israeli rhetoric has found a home in the Democratic Party.

Man, that's no lie. The more church-going blacks that I run into who refuse leave the Dims, the more I think that either they are lying about their belief system or so stupid that they shouldn't be allowed out of the house on their own.

Let me go on record as black woman that both Hilalry and her philandering, lying, military-loathing ba$tard of a husband make me sick and no way would I want to see them walk past the White House, much less live in it.

Hi radiohead,

It must be more than coincidence, but I have read more of your posts this week ever. It cannot be by chance that I have noticed what you have said lately.

Thank you for your words. I feel the same way obviously.

Be heartened that it is not just the black community that is chained this way to the Democrats and their evil ways.

I grew up in a poor Irish-German community in the northeast. My relatives (to this day) are chained to the Democrats - but it is at a price. They know things are wrong, but they cannot find the will within themselves to change.

In my estimation, the two subjects you cannot bring up in quiet family gatherings are Religion and Politics - in truth because the two are interlinked. Our views on each speak volumes to our souls - and what we value (or do not value) in our hearts.

I am a sinner saved by Jesus Christ. Sometimes, I am a good man. Sometimes - I fall. But in everything, I still know who is in charge, and it isn't me.

Your God and my God made us in His image.

A very intelligent man (who is a friend of mine) named Ravi Zacharias was asked one time at Yale University by a white lesbian student why the "struggle" for acceptance of homosexuality was no different from race. Ravi is from India.

He said: "God made your your race and mine sacred. Do you know what it is to be sacred? It means worthy of veneration - because God decreed it. I am sorry to say that what you advocate is not the same."

The Democratic Party today is as you said. It enslaves people. It is a wretched affair - and it is evil.

Blessed are those who have the discernment to see it for what it is.
