I thought he was going to win the Stanley Cup after playing 9 innings of soccer.
"The Cooling World" - April 28, 1975 Newsweek
"Climatologists are pessimistic that political leaders will take any positive action to compensate for the climatic change, or even to allay its effects. They concede that some of the more spectacular solutions proposed, such as melting the Arctic ice cap by covering it with black soot or diverting arctic rivers, might create problems far greater than those they solve. But the scientists see few signs that government leaders anywhere are even prepared to take the simple measures of stockpiling food or of introducing the variables of climatic uncertainty into economic projections of future food supplies. The longer the planners delay, the more difficult will they find it to cope with climatic change once the results become grim reality."
Toot all you want, you’re a funny man. Just don’t expect to be on any of the big leftist networks any time soon. I wish you all the success in the world but common sense never makes it to the forefront in todays world.
BTW, you owe me a new monitor due to coffee spray damage :-)
” Just dont expect to be on any of the big leftist networks any time soon”
Laurie David used to be the booker for the Letterman Show back when I was young enough to still get on.
Grants drive the scientific community. He’s right, they won’t speak out for fear of losing theirs.
Cowards all.
I can remember when I was a kid in the late 1970’s scientists thought another ice age was coming soon.
There’s always some fight going on against the lies of the Evil One.
You have to realize that each generation has to pass the torch and let the next generations continue the battle.
God promises us He will win out in the End, so don’t feel badly if you leave the field of honor before the Second Coming.
“about power and control”
Even the Nobel, apparently, can be bought.
and before Nobel, there was the Emmy and the Oscar...
If anyone Asks, I Drive a TAXI!
And now the Nobel Academy has decided to become a snake oil sales group.
Laughter is heard around the world, sniggers of abject ridicule.
But its all for the good of the children to bs them into believing this cr@p isn't it? grrr
I wonder whether anyone with a Nobel prize will ever return it in protest.
Relevant AND lol funny! Good stuff and thanks for sharing the much needed laugh here.
And 'speaking' of Darwin. . .do think, Algore should get a follow-up 'Darwin Award' post his Nobel. . .
and on 'the cheap' for sure. All you have to do is bash America. . .undermine America. . .diminish Capitalism and Democracy - as practiced - in America. . .and all those who advocate such; particularly America's President.
Added to these Lib virtues; a 'hate Bush' MO, surely makes for the cheapest ticket of all to 'fast track' a 'Nobel'. . .
The phrase “global warming” is being replaced by “global climate change”.
This season the NHC has named sub-tropical systems and other swirls in the atmosphere in an attempt to get to the “predicted” storm count.
Ping for later
In this file photo provided by Paramount Pictures Classics, Al Gore is shown in a scene
from his documentary 'An Inconvenient Truth.' The film presents the former
vice president's case about the dangers of global warming. In November the
U.N.'s climate scientists issue a capstone report on where the planet is headed.
And in December envoys of almost 200 nations gather in Bali, Indonesia,
hoping for action to head off the worst of climate change.
