The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided that the Nobel Peace Prize for 2007 is to be shared, in two equal parts, between the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and Albert Arnold (Al) Gore Jr. for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change.
Indications of changes in the earth's future climate must be treated with the utmost seriousness, and with the precautionary principle uppermost in our minds. Extensive climate changes may alter and threaten the living conditions of much of mankind. They may induce large-scale migration and lead to greater competition for the earth's resources. Such changes will place particularly heavy burdens on the world's most vulnerable countries. There may be increased danger of violent conflicts and wars, within and between states.
Through the scientific reports it has issued over the past two decades, the IPCC has created an ever-broader informed consensus about the connection between human activities and global warming. Thousands of scientists and officials from over one hundred countries have collaborated to achieve greater certainty as to the scale of the warming. Whereas in the 1980s global warming seemed to be merely an interesting hypothesis, the 1990s produced firmer evidence in its support. In the last few years, the connections have become even clearer and the consequences still more apparent.
Al Gore has for a long time been one of the world's leading environmentalist politicians. He became aware at an early stage of the climatic challenges the world is facing. His strong commitment, reflected in political activity, lectures, films and books, has strengthened the struggle against climate change. He is probably the single individual who has done most to create greater worldwide understanding of the measures ...

However they refuse to consider Reagan's "Peace through Strength" which ended the Cold War.
The sad thing is that all of this nonsense with Arafat, Annan, Carter and Gore is that is ruins the prize for people who really deserved it (Mother Theresa). Marketing folks would call it "Brand Dilution."
Change the name to The Gorbel Prize for Combating the Man.
The “prize” is already a joke and this doesn’t help!
Never mind there are lies in his “documentary” and there’s a movement to make him give back his gold trophy.
“Brand dilution” is a good way to describe it.
Gullible warming will get lots of attention today.
The Nobel prize is not worth the toilet paper it’s printed on.
Oscar
Nobel
Emmy
...
Awards are Leftist propaganda tools, otherwise worthless.
Although there are other notable failures of this socialist prize they really Jumped-The-Shark with Arafat.
He’s sharing it with the IPCC? Does that include all the scientists who threatened to sue if their names weren’t taken off the report?
It is sad to see that the Nobel Prize has been devalued to nothing.
Gore won for best left wing propaganda award.
Interesting how no one remembers that this leader in the fight against global warming did nothing about it when he was VP for 8 FREAKING YEARS. He did virtually nothing to promote passage of the blessed Kyoto treaty during that time. I guess hypocracy is not a disqualifier for the Nobel Piss Prize.
You need to post this under Breaking News... Oh wait, there already is a post at the top of the sidebar, in plain view...
The award given by idiots, to idiots, for idiocy
What did Gore do that fostered peace? If anything, a fight over global warming fosters conflict.
The actions of the Nobel committee consistently show they are out of touch communists.
LOL! If the shoe fits...
Might this jump start Al's carbon credit business?
