Majorities of young people in America describe modern-day Christianity as judgmental, hypocritical and anti-gay. What's more, many Christians don't even want to call themselves "Christian" because of the baggage that accompanies the label.

I venture to say that Andy Stanley’s remarks may have been taken out of context, but I don’t know.
I do know that he and Louis Giglio have done so much to reach the college youth of this generation. My son attended a 35,000 strong group of college kids (the Passion 07) led by Giglio (who was part of Stanley’s church leadership for years.) It was very evangelistic in it’s nature. They have promoted worship bands like David Crowder, Charlie Hall, Matt Redmon, and Chris Tomlin who play to the college kids and their main thrust is evangelism.

Not the churches I’ve attended, but who’s “dragging” people to church? People are free to attend or not attend, but I’m very skeptical of any Christian who is unwilling to associate with fellow believers.
The Bible says to go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come to hear the Word.
Yesterday was transgender day at RHAM High School in Hebron Ct. You were supposed to dress as the opposite sex and get in touch with your real feelings. Hows THAT for modern day education!

Define “anti-gay”. I would never hurt someone because they are homosexual(I prefer to call a spade a spade). I do, however, reserve the right not to accept their lifestyle. So, I guess that’s “anti-gay” and I don’t have a problem it. No homosexual need fear me or my feelings. They just wouldn’t be among my circle of frinds and I guess I still have the right to hang around with whomever I wish.

Good points. Truth be told, we are ALL hypocrites. Any Christian who claims otherwise is likely not being truthful with themselves.
We are now in that time and I am very shocked and saddened at Andy Stanley.
The world makes those who are perishing feel accepted. Christians are called to be the "salt of the earth"; not the ones who make those who are enslaved to their sin feel okay about it and feel like they are in no need of rescue- feel like there is nothing wrong with them and they don't need a Savior.
Is there no one left on the earth who claims the name of Christ that feels immense sorrow about the fallen state of man and who is burdened to tell as many people as possible that there is a way of escape from God's judgment? Is there anybody?
So, now the pop-culturists are drawing a clearly inferred distinction between “youth” and “Christians” as though these are entirely separate, if not actively antithetical, entities, rather than overlapping ones.
I am neither a youth nor a Christian but I know plenty of people who are both and who are not aware of any tension or inconsistency in those affiliations.

Some mornings I have to pinch myself to see if I am truly awake! Who are these people?? Wednesday, FCA just sponsored Fields of Faith at our public high school. They had to hold it on the football field, it was packed. The teenagers I know are extremely proud of their christianity. The largest by far groups at our school are FCA and Younglife and our school has 2000+ students.
Unfortunately, this is more evidence that a portion of the next generation of children have been dumbed down successfully by the Marxists. Their philosophy is of moral relativism, so they have no moral compass. With moral relativism as a core they see no problem with homosexual lifestyle, risky and degenerate as it is. These youngsters consider moral guidelines like the Ten Commandments as being out of date, and an attempt to force religion on them.
The great left wing conspiracy of the 1960s is bearing fruit.

I witness when I can, but the topic doesn’t come up nearly as often as I wish. People nowadays definitely don’t discuss religion as much as when I was young, and it’s often considered impolite to broach the topic.
To tell the truth, I’m not led to simply blurt out, “Jesus saves!” to everyone I meet. Yet, I remember one time when I was taking a flight and this guy climbed on board and started handing out tracts while exclaiming his love for Christ. Perhaps he planted some seeds that day, or not. Either way, we should never be afraid to speak of our faith when given the opportunity. May the Lord grant me more opportunities to witness!

True but its amazing what kind of depraved things can be discussed without problem.
The old image of shoving religion down someones throat turns many people away. I’ve found the simple works best. A well placed comment, a personal statement of what you believe. Telling people what they should believe doesn’t work. Telling people what you believe and why does work. Then simply ask if they are interested. Having a simple tract to hand them helps as a follow up.
