Ann Coulter Shocks Cable TV Show, Declaring 'Jews Need to Be Perfected by Becoming Christians'
FOX ^ | 10/11/07 | Unknown

Slash-and-burn columnist Ann Coulter shocked a cable TV talk-show audience Monday when she declared that Jews need to be "perfected" by becoming Christians, and that America would be better off if everyone were Christian.

Coulter made the remarkable statements during an often heated appearance to promote her new book on advertising guru Danny Deutsch's CNBC show "The Big Idea."

In response to a question from Deutsch asking Coulter if "it would be better if we were all Christian," the controversial columnist responded: "Yes."

"We should all be Christian?" Deutsch repeated.

"Yes," Coulter responded, asking Deutsch, who is Jewish, if he would like to "come to church with me."

Deutsch, pressing Coulter further, asked, "We should just throw Judaism away and we should all be Christians?" She responded: "Yeah."

Coulter deflected Deutsch's assertion that her comments were anti-Semitic, matter-of-factly telling the show's obviously upset host, "That is what Christians consider themselves: perfected Jews."

You just want to beat up on Anne because she is a mouthy woman and belongs to a very minor Christian body.

Again you are making stupid accusations. I am beating up on her because she says stupid stuff and liberals try to taint all conservatives with her stupidity. It has absolutely nothing to do with what Christian church she belongs too. Anyway in the overall picture she is meaningless and I am glad she does not have a talk show that reaches millions of people.

Do Jewish people believe that Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead? Do they believe it really took place historically?

I do not want to offend any of my Christain FRiends, but, since you asked, Jews believe that Jesus died on the cross but do not believe that he rose from the dead.

Seems that most NY Jews are more outraged by this statement than a School Bus being bombed.

If he is not God, but thought he was, he was crazy
If he is not God, and knew that he was not, he was a bad man
If he did not say it, the New Testament is not revealed truth
The only other possibility is that he was and is, God!

As a Jew, I vote for door number 3.

From this Jewish perspective, I would agree that conservative Christians like Coulter are, in general, more pro-Israel than leftist Jews like Streisand.

Eventually she explains what I understand to be pretty standard Christian doctrine that she believes it would be best if everyone became Christian. Deutsch claims he is an observant Jew in the discussion, I think, but if he was I think he wouldn’t feel threatened by her remarks.

See post 653, in addition to her personal beliefs, she says America would be a better nation if Jews (and by extension other non-Christians I assume) would convert, and Republicans are Christians. And she stands by that position. The controversy will be good for Ann, but very stupid politically

She didn’t say that the US government should force all Jews to become Christians. She doesn’t even work for the government. Why do so many folks get so bristly over the things Ann Coulter says?

Because she ties it to the Republican Party. If she wants to advocate these positions, let her advocate them as a world of Coulters who are Christians, et al, not a world of Republicans who are Christians. That way the Republican Party doesn't have to be associated with her comments.

Deutsch a Jew? Sounds German!

The word "Deutsch" actually means "German" in the German language. But there are many surnames shared by both Jews and non-Jewish Germans. That's because the language used by many Jews in Eastern Europe - Yiddish - is similar to German (a Germanic language).

The Messiah has always been sought by Jews. They just need to realize he has already arrived..

Riiiight, so in your fever dream that you find reality, there is both peace and G-d's kingdom on earth.

Cause that is what the Messiah brings, thus is he came already, this has come to pass.

Anything else is simple revisionism.

Are you trying to suggest that Ann’s legs coming out of her orthodox miniskirts aren’t those of a perfected Jew?

Ever heard of the Spanish Inquisition?

...what was it to those that didn’t believe? I think history has answered that.

If you don't believe your own faith is "superior", then why do you continue to practice it? Don't we all, at some level, think our own is the best?

Maybe some of us have manners and respect for others' beliefs, and feel secure enough in our own beliefs to not have the urge to try to inflict it on other people.

Because Ann Coulter very carefully says things that make folks bristle. That is how Tom Petty in Drag makes her money.

It has become acceptable in todays society to be anything but a Christian.

Watch TV or movies. A Native American worshipping the wind or the stars or looking to nature as a God is sacred. A Hindu ceremony and rituals are sacred. A Muslims daily prayers are considered sacred. Tibetan Monks are sacred. The Dali Lama, sacred. The opening ceremony for the latest Survivor China shows all the consestants being asked to participate in what Jeff Probst insisted was not a worship service in an Idol filled temple with chanting monks and ceremonial bows. The lone professed Christian stepped out of the ceremony noting that to her, she felt like she was doing wrong and in a worship service. She was publicly challenged by the host as to why she didn’t want to continue and made to look like some intolerant western Bible thumper. Let’s face it. The only acceptable predjudices left in society seem to be against Christians and conservatives.

I just heard it on Prager’s show. If Christians believe that everyone needs to be Christian to go to heaven, then why would it be disturbing for her to say that she wishes everyone would convert? She thinks she is helping people by saying this. Who cares? We know what we know.

So stating Christian doctrine is now shocking? That says more about our society than it does about Ann.

Only had to scroll through two posts to get the correct answer.

The enlightened members of the media know that all religions are the same. They're shocked that anyone could believe otherwise.
