New York U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton is one of the most loathsome modern American politicians, given her barely disguised support for massive government programs, her grating schoolmarm personality and her aggressive political behavior, yet I'm left hoping that she obliterates any of the front-running Republican candidates and has long-enough coattails to expand Democratic control of the Senate and House of Representatives.
Unless Republican candidate Ron Paul - the only supporter of liberty in the bunch of GOP ne'er do wells - somehow propels his impressive Internet campaign into an improbable electoral victory, there is nothing else, but a Clinton victory, that will save the Republican Party and help rebuild the nation's long-suffering freedom movement.
How can an enemy of freedom help freedom?
Well, when you've got a headache, you take an aspirin. When you've got the flu, you take something a little stronger. When you've got cancer, you need chemotherapy, which kills cancer cells but can come perilously close to killing the patient. It's a sad truth, but the Republican Party has the political equivalent of cancer.

A Guiliani victory--indeed, a victory by any of the top GOP candidates--would cement the party's totalitarian tendencies. Even the party's social conservative wing, its most powerful grass-roots force, is ready to bolt if Giuliani gets the nomination.
Religious Right notables such as Focus on the Family's James Dobson and former presidential candidate Gary Bauer met recently in Salt Lake City to discuss backing a third-party candidate. These folks are no friends of liberty, either. Still, their defection could assure that increasingly likely Clinton victory.

Welcome to the mind I’m stuck living in...
She’s in The Book.
The Whore of Babylon, drunk with the blood of Saints.
Of course, ultimately she is doomed to the Pit...
“He is also a lunatic California libertarian, as best I can tell.”
He’s not.
I fail to see how the Dems are doing so swell. They have a black muslim, a crooked woman, and the breck girl running...
“If we had re-elected Ford we could have avoided the disaster of the Carter years and still had Reagan when the time came.”
The Ford wing had no use for Reagan. They certainly would not have endorsed him.

Really? I always thought that 1933 was the year that Hitler successfully (and 'legally') destroyed the communist party in Germany after the Reichstag fire. Exactly how did they join hands?
___________________________________________________
Worse than that, I believe that 8 years of the dims running things would result in 12,000,000 new voters who are now illegals. The GOP would be kaput, never to rise again.
They were rivals in the '76 primary, but if Ford had been re-elected it is my guess he would have served out his term and then turned things over to Reagan in '80 on a reasonably convenient basis. At least he wouldn't have assassinated him, like we see people doing in this election.
Even if he hadn't, the country would have been spared the disaster of the Carter presidency and all of it's fallout we are still suffering today, not the least of which is war in Gulf region. So this "win-by-losing" idiocy is just a bunch of crap.
It is the pinnacle of ignorance to willingly throw the election to your opponent in the vain hope that somehow that will make you stronger the next time around. In politics, losing doesn't make you stronger. It puts you further behind the eight ball. You've got to make up the ground you lost and then some in order to win.
You people better wake up out there. If you think Hillary! winning in '08 is going to open the doors to conservative victories in 2010 and 2012, you are sadly self-deluded. If Hillary wins in a blowout, as appears likely based on how things are now in the opposition, it's going to be like 1932 again. You'll be shut out of power for two generations. The 'Rats will see to that. They're going to destroy this Republic while you're sitting around sniping at our own candidates.
NOTE TO RNC
I didn't miss it. I just ignored it, because it is silly. You don't need to play these kinds of games. You know full well the RNC doesn't read these posts. And you know full well you weren't addressing your comment to the RNC. Please be honest enough, especially with yourself, to address your comments to those reading and responding on the thread.
This is awful damn close to "freedom is slavery". In fact, they are probably the most Orwellian words ever to appear outside of an Orwell novel.
It is the pinnacle of stupidity to willingly throw away the power of the vote. The black vote in America has become voiceless for a reason: they ALWAYS turn out for a Rat, no matter what. Thus, the Rats can ignore them because it doesn't matter what they do.
To support a RINO under the premise that it's better than a Rat is to ignore history. Every Rat-kissing RINO president since World War II has left the Republican Party in worse shape at the end of his term, throwing power to the Democrats, especially Nixon and the Bushes. Only Reagan left the people wanting more, and what they wanted was conservatism. "Electable" RINOS have made a mess of the California GOP as well. The only thing that saved Pete Wilson's sorry hide was his willingness to back a conservative Prop 187. This is to say nothing of what happened when the Party backed our current "fiscal conservative," who has increased spending and debt faster than his Rat predecessor, accelerated the construction of our regulatory prison, and gleefully signed every piece of pro-gay legislation but one.
History renders your claims into specious wailing. Treaties can be rescinded. Laws can be scrapped. It's hard, but unless the people realize where this goes, they won't take the medicine necessary to build the majorities sufficient to get it done. You are correct in one respect, the disease may be fatal. You are incorrect to believe that electing moderates will do anything to abate it. Socialism is fatal either way.
Well, cripes, look at your own electoral history. Davis blew out Lungren in 1998 by 20 points. Even when he was becoming unpopular, he beat "true conservative" Simon in 2002 by 47-42. In 2004 you had Boxer clobbering Jones by 20 points. She beat Fong in 1998 by 10%. Feinstein walloped Mountjoy by 22 points in 2006. She creamed Campbell 56-38 in 2000. Look at the presidential contests. CA was reliably Republican going back to 1952, except for the conservative blowout in '64. But starting in '92, you haven't voted for a Republican/conservative presidential candidate. Not once. And you're going to sit there and tell me the electorate hasn't changed since the days of Reagan? What, did all these people who were voting Republican going back to the 1950s wake up one morning and decide to become 'Rats? Things like this don't just happen. When you're faced with this kind of sea change in electoral makeup, you have to scramble. When the chance came along to remove an unpopular and corrupt Governor, using a combination of star power and dissatisfaction with the incumbent, the party rolled the dice and took a chance on being able to change things. That was a darned sight better than sitting on the sidelines, or running someone who was bound to lose yet another election.
Only is you have an intact Republic within which those things can be accomplished. If you allow the socialist/Marxists to come to power, such as by enabling a Hillary! victory, you won't.
You are correct in one respect, the disease may be fatal. You are incorrect to believe that electing moderates will do anything to abate it. Socialism is fatal either way.
So then defeat the candidate who is the avowed socialist. That should be the number one priority. Don't do things that enable the socialist to win. Given the choices, elect as many people as we can who come closest to lining up with our beliefs. You people aren't doing that. You're so focused on destroying our own candidates that you're going to let the socialists waltz into power. And then you'll see some real destruction.
Prop 227 | English only education in public schools | Passed |
Prop 209 | No more affirmative action in State hiring or education | Passed |
Prop 22 | Heterosexual marriage only | Passed |
Prop 187 | No benefits for illegal aliens | Passed |
Simon lost to Davis by only 325,000 votes after the most incompetent campaign in history and while being stabbed in the back by his own Party. Even during the recall, internal polling showed that McClintock was the most popular candidate, but that Republicans foolishly fell for Schwarzenkaiser because "he can win." And look what happened: We were better off with Davis (and don't bother saying otherwise because calcowgirl will crush you with data).
Don't give us California is a liberal state until you know what you are talking about.
If Hillary wins AMerica is FINISHED...if she can fool or cheat her way to President, then good people will wipe the dust of America off their shoes and give up as a lost cause. The Military will shrink also.....it will be a country that is too DUMB to DEFEND.
Great. Then work to ensure that we do NOT helpt to elect a democrat---by nominating a liberal GUARANTEED to DIVIDE AND SPLIT the Party,,,while also demoralizing the base!! There's no better way to ensure a Hillary win that by doing just that.
False premise. Seems to me that RINO Bush is doing a dandy job of gutting the Constitution and American sovereignty himself. So will Giuliani, Romney, Juckabee, and maybe even Thompson.
So then defeat the candidate who is the avowed socialist.
There is no difference between an avowed socialist Rat and a closet socialist Republican other than that the latter lacks any opposition.
Don't do things that enable the socialist to win.
Cowing to RINOs enables socialism. The threat to throw the election may be our last ditch.
You're so focused on destroying our own candidates that you're going to let the socialists waltz into power.
Bullshit. My focus is on electing Duncan Hunter. It's the RINOs who have back-stabbed GOP conservative candidates, big-time. The list is so long I'm not even going to bother with it.
PAAAAAHHHHLEEEEZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!
AJC pushing the same BS story that “defeat is victory”
what next ignorance is strength? or just shutting Rush down is strength
This bs storries appear like clockwork.
Stop Guiliani and we have no problems.
How is that twisted? I just looked up the numbers, and the numbers don't lie. You're electing 'Rat politicians hand over fist, defeating conservative after conservative candidate, and you really want me to believe that CA isn't turning to the left? You've had chances to send Boxer and Feinstein packing any number of times in favor of "true conservative" candidates and you didn't do it. If CA is still a conservative state, why not? Oh, I know, it was "incompetent campaigning". Yeah, that's the ticket.
You really think you were better off under Davis? Fine, stick with the crooked 'Rats then. In fact, why don't you all organize a recall Arnold campaign and get Grayman back in there. Then he can finish the job, probably moreso than Arnold ever could.
