Republican Presidential Candidate Debate #8 Dearborn, Michigan 10/09/07 - Official Discussion Thread
CNBC/MSNBC/The Wall Street Journal are jointly sponsoring the first Republican Presidential debate of the 2008 campaign focusing on economic issues. It will be held on October 9 in Dearborn, Michigan at the University of Michigan-Dearborn at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center. Broadcast is live on CNBC at 4 PM ET (1 PM PT) and re-broadcast on MSNBC at 9 PM ET (6 PM PT). CNBC's Maria Bartiromo and MSNBC's Chris Matthews will host the debate.
Candidates participating:
It’s too bad he started in the 7th inning.
They should throw a few of these bums out of there for any future debates. Of course, we all know who they are.
Fred is very impressive in this debate and next is Mitt. The folksy southern drawl works well for him.
There about 4 or 5 that are struggling to get the words out.
Pray for W and Our Troops
Romney is right there with great answers too, though...There are so many good things about all our guys. I'm so proud to be a Conservative!
BINGO!!!!
I am truly hoping that conservatives will wake up and not drink the MSM kool-aid that only Rudy could beat Hillary....
the media is just PRAYING for that to be the race.....Like NY is the only city in the USA....
RP has staked out the Left of Kookcinch territory.
Pray for W and Our Troops
“Fair enough!
Peace?”
Anyone willing...yes.
I just watched what Drudge has headlined as Fred’s “shaky first answer”. I watched it and didn’t see the shaky part. They are trying to do a “Scoop Jackson” on Fred. For those too young to know, he was a very pro national defense democrat, a good guy and a real leader and the media downplayed his successes (like winning the NY primary) and made up gaffes until he was run out of the race.
I wonder if Fred has a cold. He sounds like he does, and seems a bit foggy like that, too...although good...foggy.
we just need to keep plugging away...sticking to our principles.....
like NordP already pointed out... at least our guys are sticking to the facts, and not gushing with heartstring tactics.....and other than RP-— they are keeping the “Bush bashing” off the stage...but actually even addressing where the GOP leadership has been failing us....
kinda refreshing...
I think Fred is doing better than what I had read too.
Thank GOD Tancredo brought up the “Fast Track” issue....
wish these folks would bring up the dang disaster of Trade Courts too....
I would like to see an invitation only round table debate between Romney, Guiliani, and Thompson.
The others should be set aside.
.. .... ..
trivia: NONE of the three front runners were wearing a red tie.
(must be a confidence thing)
LOL!!!
Tancredo is so refreshing to hear....great answer, too.
I think so too. The MSM had their hit pieces ready and waiting, that’s obvious.
Too bad, MSM!! The American people aren’t listening to you.
“Olbermann critisized FreeRepublic? Awesome!”
People always say bad thing about places they don’t visit with. Olbermann and OReilly really need to visit for long-periods to actually know what they’re talking about.
I thought so too. We have such a wonderful pool of candidates to choose from. THEY just have her evilness.
actually I think Fred Thompson spoke with more substance than Guliani.
Guiliani had better delivery but far less message. More 9/11 type fluff.
I watched the debate live earlier and posted to several.
It is amazing how may folks don’t have a clue about the people running.
There was one dim bulb who couldn’t put into words support for his guy so kept spamming attacking Hunter.
