They have a very odd idea of what constitutes “progress”.

I had no idea that we were so doomed.

I think I'll go bake a nice doomsday cake.

“Say Goodbye to Christmas Trees The Pine Bark Beetle, which feeds on and kills pine trees, used to be held in control by cold winter temperatures. Now the species is thriving and killing off entire forests in British Columbia, unchecked. [Seattle Post Intelligencer]”

The real cause of the beetle infestation in BC is fire suppression. That used to be “common knowledge” — before GW became the all-purpose culprit. Every now and then, a forest expert will be quoted in the MSM blaming fire suppression -- but, the media prefers quoting GW alarmists. Boreal forests have a natural life-cycle of about 100 years. The trees in infested areas are older than that. If nature had been allowed to take her course, there would have been a mix of very young to very old trees, because of all the fires.

BTW — there’s no danger of Christmas trees disappearing — the next crop of trees is already growing wherever the infested trees have been removed.

You mean, don’t say it....

The Vikings really found grapes in Canada?

Of course back then, we were burning yak poop for fires. Must make things REALLY hot, huh?

For every 100 bad things I can find 300 good ones.

Such as you can soon swim when you visit Bar Harbor.

Say Goodbye to French Wines
Say Goodbye to Light and Dry Wines
Say Goodbye to Pinot Noir
Say Goodbye to Baseball
Say Goodbye to Christmas Trees

Goodbye.

Now, let's burn down a rain forest and put in a 16-lane highway for SUVs.

Here's Another video showing what an imbecile Al Bore is.

The moonbats have been voting down the first video "Inconvenient Hypocrisy", be sure to vote it back up to the top of the heap of videos about Al Bore.

Good anti-Global Warming video that picks apart Gore's stupid film.

"Say Goodbye to Baseball The future of the ash tree—from which all baseball bats are made—is in danger of disappearing, thanks to a combination of killer beetles and global warming. [NY Times]"

Not long ago, USAToday did an article on the current crop of batting specialists in the MLB. Of the 6 players covered, half had bats made from something other than ash.

Gads I hate liberal, elitist pinheads.

Of course, these species will not adapt/move to more hospitable climates. Also, of course the Earth has been completely static, with nothing dying out over its 4.5 Billion year lifespan.

That's why I saw a T Rex eating a woolly mammoth on my drive from the cave into work this morning.

This sort of shift has happened before. There’s a James Burke video that shows what the now-dry Middle East was like a few thousand years ago. Trees, wells, farms, forests, many more small rivers.

Then, the rain band shifted North and the Land of Milk and Honey became dry. There are lots of ruins there now with dry wells. Europe and the Mediterranean area became the breadbasket.

The important thing is, it happened without human cause or intervention. A Lebanese or Babylonian Algore could have done nothing about it.

Rather than using natural climate shift like Columbus used a lunar eclipse, the political screamers could be looking into what we need to do to survive natural changes in Earth’s climate.
