President Bush met with his economic team today in the Oval Office. August 2007 marked the 49th consecutive month of job growth since 2003. And that's the longest uninterrupted job growth on record for our country. (Transcript)
The president also took this opportunity to speak about terrorism and to defend US interrogation policy since some people, like Senator Jay Rockefeller (Democrat-W.Va.) and the good folks at the New York Times, apparently have nothing better to do than worry about terrorists rights. (Source)
By the way, according to a recent FOX News poll, 1 in 5 Democrats thinks the world will be better off if America loses the war in Iraq. Not that we question their patriotism or anything.
Secretary of Defense Robert Gates arrived in Peru today and met with leaders and military officials.
And the new Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen and General David Petraeus met with Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki in Iraq.
Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island

I’d swear that likeness of our President looks different from when I first saw it. Perhaps it’s the angle. Whatever, I really like it.
Thanks for posting it, and thanks for tonight’s Dose.
She has some big shoes to fill, but Dana is doing a great job so far :)
Yepper!... to both segments of Your Dana reply!!
The eyes on that statue do seem to follow you .... almost the same way that Spot's eyes follow you when you're in the kitchen ;)
Thank you for posting the dose tonight. And a big thank you for posting this about Dana Perino. She is a lovely lady, and sounds like she is doing a good job.
Sometimes it is hard to imagine someone else in a job after someone special has left, like Tony Snow. But Dana makes the whole thing easier to take. I think she will be as special as Tony was.
You’re welcome :) And I agree about Dana.
Good evening Kitkat! I got to pics for you again. I will post them to you after I upload them to photo bucket
Oh yeah, I forgot, the people at the art store seemed very impressed. They wanted to know who did the work and if you were a local.
