Is there a “correct” way to be a wife?
EIther a woman is pretty and therefore a trophy wife, or she is criticized for being ugly and therefore “wears the pants (or pantsuit)” in the family.
I’d like to see the “rules” for what a candidate’s wife is supposed to be.

I always thought trophy wives were pretty and young. Often-times I refer to my wife as “my trophy wife” (only in front of her!) She’s only a few years younger than me - but I look much older- and she’s much cuter!

Then there's our First Lady, the lovely Laura Bush, who is certainly not a trophy wife. She's kind and gracious as well as being beautiful. She can be feisty, but she doesn't "wear the pants". Their marriage seems to be one based on love, respect for each other, and yes, definitely physical attraction to each other. They are a model to emulate.

I'm sure the Romney supporters around here would be happy to fill you in.
