Do you think the WP will ever bring up Barak Hussein Obama’s Muslim past?

If he’s not a true, blue, card-carrying Christian-—forget it.
Evangelicals will never vote a Mormon for any office...it’s a matter of principle.

I would have supported Mitt, and Fred would not have been necessary, if Mitt had been a proven, solid, long-time conservative.

But I would have done so in spite of the fact that the Mormonism issue renders Mitt unelectable, a loss of maybe 5% vote margin that no Republican can afford to give away.

I'm not against him because he's a Mormon, though I can understand the sentiment.

I'm against him because he's a slickster. I don't trust him.

The comments are great.

I loved this one:

“anniejoyce wrote:
This guy is offensive on so many levels. First, he made his money with Bain by taking over a company, laying off its workers and selling the company for a huge profit. Secondly, I could not vote for a Mormon. ......... Thirdly, he calls his wife a “babe.” The biggest, however, is that he will say anything at anytime to get elected. This guy gives me the creeps.”

If he gets the presidency, will he give all the high-ranking cabinet positions to the Osmonds? (Lame joke, I know.)

As long as the press can keep the dialogue with Mitt focused on his religion, rather than on any substantial explanaton of his politics, the longer it shall be until his real positions on any number of issues will be made known.

It matters exactly JACK what Mitt’s specific religion may be, so long as his commitment to the America of thrift, industry and justice to all remains intact. But we are not offered this side of him by the press.

"A Mormon in the Oval Office?"

Has to be a thousand times better than a Mooslime!

In my travels, I find his religious preference cited everywhere as the source of opposition to his candidacy.

Well, there are an awful lot of idiots in the world.

Harry Reid (D) is showing us what life is like with a Mormon leading the Senate.

The press doesn’t seem to like to advertise this fact.

When I first glanced at the title I thought it said “A Moron in the Oval Office?” I assumed it must be about Edwards but then I put on my glasses and realized it said “Mormon”.

I’m still undecided but my wife, Catholic to the bone, is already convinced by Romney.

Mitt Romney has pretty much everything: brains, good looks, a beautiful family (his first and only), vast wealth (most of it earned), managerial ability (the Olympics, Massachusetts governor), and no hint of scandal. His Mormonism is not a big problem for me (I can see no ill effects from it in his way of life). Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be enough to seal the deal for the Presidency. And that’s too bad because I suspect that he would’ve done an excellent job.

Yet the second question from the audience was whether Romney's Mormon faith was hurting his quest for the Republican presidential nomination. He replied that about the only people who brought up his religion were members of the media, an answer that simply is untrue.

Ironically, I imagine the people asking that question are the one that want the 10 Commandments removed from the courthouse and "In God We Trust" removed from our currency.

Romney bought into the Media Matters, Soros, and sHrillary lies, jumped on board with the Democraps, and castigated Rush for the “phoney soldier” comment. I don’t care that he’s a Mormon. I do care that he’s either too stupid or too uniformed (or both) to do that.

Hey, Mitt, I could have supported you. Not anymore. Kindly go to ####, you worthless POS!

I’ll say it again, I will vote for the Republican candidate. Here’s hoping it won’t be, Mc Cain. Rudy, Paul or Mitt. Mormonism is a cult, maybe a nice one but a cult all the same.

Let’s step back to the election of 1960, when freshman senator John F. Kennedy threw his hat in the ring against one Richard M. Nixon. At that time, we were treated to a massive dose of hysteria over the fact that Kennedy was a (gasp!) CATHOLIC!! Worse, if he were elected, America would be ruled from the Vatican, NOT from the Oval office!!

(sigh)

Everything old is new again. Have we really not progressed beyond this point?? Romney isn’t running for President of the Mormon church, he’s running for President of the United States. If there is no data to prove otherwise, we must consider his candidacy on the basis of his qualifications to lead the nation, NOT on the basis of his choice of religion.
