Let’s step back to the election of 1960, when freshman senator John F. Kennedy threw his hat in the ring against one Richard M. Nixon. At that time, we were treated to a massive dose of hysteria over the fact that Kennedy was a (gasp!) CATHOLIC!! Worse, if he were elected, America would be ruled from the Vatican, NOT from the Oval office!!

Everything old is new again. Have we really not progressed beyond this point?? Romney isn’t running for President of the Mormon church, he’s running for President of the United States. If there is no data to prove otherwise, we must consider his candidacy on the basis of his qualifications to lead the nation, NOT on the basis of his choice of religion.
