So the Investigative Officer has reduced the charges from premeditated murder in two houses and the taxi to negligent homicide for the occupants of the second house I presume? Any idea if the three year maximum penalty is a total, or for each alleged negligent homicide?

It now lies with Gen. Mattis to decide whether he wants to go forward. Prayers for the Wuterich family as they await that decision.

Mixed feelings here - glad to see no murder charges and Ware’s finding about the “5 schoolboys in the taxi” but angry that any charges are recommended. And of course red hot rage with steam coming out of my ears everytime I think of what Murtha and our enemedia has done to these Marines.

Fingers crossed that Mattis sees through the political correctness and dismisses the charges altogether. He’s proven to be a stand-up man through this so...

I view this as great news even though I would rather that Lt. Col. Ware had recommended all charges be dropped.

I’m now praying for SSGt. Wuterich and his family that Lt. Gen. Mattis will drop all charges like he has done with his other decisions to date. I believe there’s a good chance he’ll do it, not only because it’s been established this happened in a ligitimate firefight but if Mattis recommends couts-martial I don’t believe there’s much chance of a conviction.

This recommendation certainly shoots down Murtha’s despicable accusation that these Marines killed civilians in cold blood while on a rampage. Hopefully Wuterich will win his civil suit and others will file against Murtha, Murtha deserves to pay a steep price for his blind ambition in using these Marines to further his political career.
