CNN: Flying Mexican Flag Over US Flag Is OK
NewsBusters.org ^ | Richard Newcomb

Posted on 10/03/2007 5:33:07 PM PDT by SandRat

A Mexican bar owner in Reno Nevada flew the Mexican flag above that of the United States. Only problem is that this is specifically illegal under United States Code Section 7, Title Four, which states,

(c) No other flag or pennant should be placed above or, if on the same level, to the right of the flag of the United States of America, except during church services conducted by naval chaplains at sea, when the church pennant may be flown above the flag during church services for the personnel of the Navy. No person shall display the flag of the United Nations or any other national or international flag equal, above, or in a position of superior prominence or honor to, or in place of, the flag of the United States at any place within the United States or any Territory or possession thereof: Provided, That nothing in this section shall make unlawful the continuance of the practice heretofore followed of displaying the flag of the United Nations in a position of superior prominence or honor, and other national flags in positions of equal prominence or honor, with that of the flag of the United States at the headquarters of the United Nations.

The brazen effrontery of the bar prompted an American veteran to cut down both flags. But when CNN reported on the event, they managed to significantly skew the perception. The CNN report simply states that the veteran was angry that the Mexican flag was placed above that of the US- no mention was made that it was in fact illegal under US law. CNN compounded their offense by showing in their video clip, not the actual words of the relevant US code that outlaws this action, but instead 'flag rules' taken from USHistory.org, thus downplaying the actual offense, by suggesting that athe law is in fact merely recommended behavior. As in so much relating to the illegal alien lobby, apprently it is OK with CNN for immigrants to disrespect and/or disobey the laws of our country, but let one American try to react, and they scream bloody murder. Balance? What balance? Cross-posted on StoneHeads.

People who want to destroy the USA think it’s OK.

I don't consider a migration an invasion until they start chopping off the heads of American negotiators and throwing them back if they reject the terms, ie the Germanic tribes. ;-)

Until then, this is just uncontrolled migration of folks from one country to another. I am MAD at my government for not enforcing the law, less angry at the illegals themselves.

Don't you love the Eunuchs who log on to FR just to pick nits with the conservative, pro-American perspective?

The castrati sure does have a loud, if shrill, voice.

Technically you are right.

But this is an invasion.

And when people "migrate" from another country to the United States of America and break our laws to do so, that is illegal.

And should be stopped.

The liberals have no problem with illegal criminal insurgent invaders coming to our country (That's what these "folks" are.) I do.

If you want to wait until your head is on the chopping block, so be it.

Those arguing with Oldsmaj, in particular, need to ponder the significance.

They ALSO need to see where this country has rapidly fallen by checking out this thread....

Can you cite any actual enforceable law that prohibits the flying of Mexican, Canadian or Confederate Flag in the U.S. or are you just gong on you feelings?

That is the way it should be. Just heard on Fox news that illegals are leaving Arizona.Don’t know why. This whole illegal mess is because too many AMERICANS don’t care the direction this country is going.

The United States of America is a sovereign nation.

Then let's deal with this straight. To recover what we've lost, we need to:

  1. Close the borders.
  2. End welfare for illegals.
  3. Deport illegal aliens.
But that's not enough. We need to get out of the UN. We need to rescind treaties like LOST and NAFTA and CAFTA. We need to believe in America again. This is about leadership that has taken us astray. It's about agreements with Mexico and others that undermine our national sovereignty at the highest levels.

The Mexican with his flag held high was just speaking his mind. He's really just repeating what our leaders have been saying: foreign relations are more important than American values.

Presumably, if the U.S. were invaded by Mexico, Canada or some other country, the Constitution would be suspended thus denying the foreign invaders of Constitutional protections.

If? If?

What, do you need to literally see foreign TANKS before you can recognize and invasion?

U.S. Constitution, Article 4 Section 4:

"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government,

and shall protect each of them against Invasion;"

Invasion: \In*va"sion\, n. [L. invasio: cf. F. invasion. See Invade.] [1913 Webster]

1. The act of invading; the act of encroaching upon the rights or possessions of another; encroachment; trespass.

When will it rise to the level of an invasion in YOUR book? When the invaders throw YOU out of YOUR house, but not a minute before?

The close pre-march photo of the Brown Berets of Aztlan with their Aztlan reconquista banner was taken by myself, undercover.

The BBA led the largest Mayday 2006 march in San Diego. "Somehow," the MSM missed this "minor" fact, except for in the two photos under the closeup of the march. They never mentioned a word on TV, radio or in the papers about the fact that this group, dedicated to the armed, violent overthrow of the USA in the Southwest, actually LED the parade. I guess the PC-ridden liberal media "didn't notice" this astounding fact.

Awesome photos of that “PARADE”. /sarc off.

Your absolutely right about the media. They were in on it from the beginning. Not a word was reported about their plans to march by the 10s of thousands, and none of the truth, as those photos reveal, was reported. And as I recall, as major cities all across our country were being shut down, overwhelming local law enforcement, and at risk to our national security, post/911....complete and total silence from D.C.

Check with the Ford Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation, the Guggenheim Foundation, and the Carnegie Foundation. That's where the MSM gets its marching orders. We need to learn how to integrate with the world so that we can have one world government. The MSM is there to help.

If that is the case, then the President should declare it as such, suspending the Constitution and order troops to repel the invasion.

I agree with you 100%. My theory is they (meaning those who don’t care about the direction this country is taking) are too concerned about bills, entertainment, sports and paychecks.

If in fact we are being invaded by Mexico,

20 million illegals is an invasion to anybody but the willfully ignorant.

...every man who has been Commander in Chief for the last 30 years should be charged with treason for not taking measures to repel the invasion.

OK.

What does "suspending the Constitution" (???) have to do with anything in bloody hell????

Defending the nation from invasion is right there IN the Constitution in black and white, in language a simpleton can understand.

U.S. Constitution, Article 4 Section 4:

"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government,

I don't give a damn what flag it is, if it is flown superior to the Flag of the United States of America, I shall interpret it as an act of war and I will respond accordingly

Concur. Flying the US flag beneath another is an outright claim that the location is no longer US territory, but a conquered/occupied zone.

It's time to take it back.

"We have Nicaragua, soon we will have El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, and Mexico. One day, tomorrow or five years or fifteen years from now, we're going to take 5 to 10 million Mexicans and they are going into Dallas, into El Paso, into Houston, into New Mexico, into San Diego, and each one will have embedded in his mind the idea of killing ten Americans."
--Thomas Borge, Nicaragua Interior Minister as quoted in the Washington Times, March 27, 1985
