He should have changed those socks....GEEZ!
His plan didn't work, he got a Purple Heart anyway (probably for wetting his own pants....and developing a nasty rash....)
I find that extremely hard to believe!
LCDR Grant Hibbard, Kerry's supervisor in the chain of command, refused to put him in for it despite Kerry's request. Dr. Letson, who described the "wound" as similar to a thorn from a rosebush and self-inflicted. The bottom line is that you need both a medical report and an after action report substantiating that there was hostile fire. To me, the first PH is Kerry's achilles heel if we could ever get the Navy Department to release all of the information. I would bet that Kerry falsified an after action report morre than a month later at his new command.
Picture yourself in Cambodia for Christmas
Bronze stars are twinkling in purple-heart skies
A Green Beret calls you, you pull him in slowly
And make up kaleidoscope lies--
Kerry in a boat with medals. . .
He inherited the socks when the Wicked Witch of the East got crushed by a house. Kerry put in a Purple Heart for that, too, on the grounds he was the closest surviving relative.
I actually got a tall oval pumpkin for Halloween 2004, and carved it to look like Kerry :-) He looks kinda like the Scarecrow in the bottom pic there.
The correlation between Odell’s “I fired a couple of hundred rounds...” and 188 hits would suggest that those numbers may have a relationship. I don’t know how .50 cal was packaged or requisitioned. Any way you look at it, it adds another notch to the Fraud.
It isn't clear to me from the quotes that "188 hits" refers to the March 17, 1969 Bay Hap River event. Another possibility is that it's part of the Kerry/Alston effort to give Kerry credit for the Jan. 29 1969 engagement in which gunner Alston and PCF-94 skipper Tedd Peck were wounded, just before Kerry took over the boat.
Then again, the "188 hits" may not be connected to any actual event. This is John Kerry we're talking about, after all...
When I think of Kerry I think of Heinz Ketchup. I don’t buy it anymore either.
good to see you Fedora!
I wondered about that. There's nothing in the paperwork indicating anyone counted any bullets, though, and as Odell's comment indicates, if you're going to give a round estimate of bullets, you'd use a number like "a couple hundred", not something as specific as "188". It's very strange any way you cut it.
bump
Yes, definitely, LOL. The rest of the article doesn't add any details to what I quoted which would tie it to a specific event. In context, the article is basically a promotional piece for Kerry, and the purpose of mentioning the "188 hits" is to bolster the Kerry=JFK image (another version of the article was titled "John F. Ken...Ah...Kerry"), rather than to provide any details about specific combat actions, so it's skimpy on the type of detail we're interested in. Since it refers to Kerry as "thrice-wounded", though, it would seem like it's referring to one of the three events associated with Kerry's Purple Hearts, and the Bay Hap River incident seems like the only one of those involving anything resembling Kerry's boat being fired at. When did Kerry and/or Alston first talk about the January 29, 1969 engagement?--did Kerry ever mention it before the 2004 campaign?
The lengths the Left goes to implement it's smears is getting to be very short, indeed. Can only wonder what they have in store as we approach Elections.
I wonder. . .but truly, cannot imagine.
You, too, RDTF! :-)
Yes, Rush would hurt him. Kerry will only engage in a controlled debate, not one where he can get caught off-guard. He’s a good prepared debater, he’s not good on his feet. He’d be especially vulnerable on something like this because he’s told so many lies, he probably doesn’t even remember the truth anymore, and someone well-versed in the facts would bewilder him.
I agree they are planning a major dirty trick for the election. They can’t afford to let the media focus on something like the Hsu scandal, so they’ll try to distract the public with a counter-scandal, is my expectation.
