Fred Thompson Gaining in the Polls
Transworld News ^ | 9/28/2007 | FINDITT

When taking a look at Fred Thompson in the polls you will see a steady increase in popularity over the last several months. Looking at usaelectionpolls.com you will see in almost every one of the polls done in September that Fred Thompson has gained. The average by southern states has grown steadily from 5.5% in March up to a high of 25.8% this September with steady increases all along. In the West Fred Thompson started out at an average of 8.5% in March and has worked back from a drop to 6.5% in April up to a strong 20.5% this September with a few increases and decreases along the way.

When looking at the Red vs. Blue states at USA Election Polls, you will find that Fred Thompson started out low in the red states in January at 1.0% and has steadily climbed to 19.6% in July with a decrease in August and a rally to 21.8% this September. In the blue states Fred Thompson started out with an average of 5.5% and steadily gained to a high of 14.3% in July but dropped in August to 12.8% and has made a slow come back to 13.3% this September. Other polls that can be observed show a strong steady increase in most states polled this month the highest of which would be Georgia at 32.0%, and New York the lowest at 9.0%. In the news Fred Thompson seems to fair just as well with highs from NBC at 26% and lows from several news polls at 20.0% for the month of September.

My personal feeling from reading posts of many Rudy supporters on other forums is that many feel that he is the only candidate who can beat Hillary and will be the strongest candidate in the WOT, and that moving the Republican party further to the center will get more votes from dems and independents who are more centrist.

I like the guy’s principles very much. My question would be: does he know how to govern? My heart of hearts tells me that if he’s an honest man his principles will supply the want of past experience in that realm. Whatever the case, I believe he will be our next President, not least because he reflects the values of mainstream America and, like Rush Limbaugh, knows how to articulate them.

What I was picking up from the ones here, was that they personally matched up with Rudy’s politics and social issues views.

If you scraped the surface off of the ones here, they truly hated social conservatives and religion.

You're right, many of them held moderate social and religious views. I just got sick of the endless posting that if we dummies didn't support Rudy we'd better be prepared to see President Hillary.

Fred will win the only poll that counts - the election. He’s done and is still doing an excellent job of blindsiding the MSM and RINO supporters.

I don’t agree with that at all. In an ideal world we would have a strong conservative candidate that would appeal to all republicans as well as a majority of independents and yes even some dems. Reagan is dead and frankly some of us don’t see this appeal in any of our candidates. So we look at polls and in most polls we see Rudy strongest in match ups against Hillary. He also projects strengh. He doesn’t take any crap from the media and he was the first to come out swinging against the democrats. Do we like his views on social issues? No we don’t. Are we comfortable with every aspect of the mans personal life? No, but he’s right on the WOT and most economic issues. I just think too many are hanging their hopes on a candidate who does not have the fire in his belly to make a fight of it all the way to the Nov. 08 elections.

“Do we like his views on social issues? No we don’t.”

The divide is over social conservatism, we won’t vote for Rudy, and to his supporters it ranges from I hate social conservatives to “Hey, I’m not obsessed with social conservatism”.

Oh, the old “He doesn’t have the fire in his belly” excuse for dumping Fred so we can vote for a Clinton Wannabe!

Not for my family, friends, or myself. Not in the primary, and not in the general.

If the Republican party wants to commit suicide, the will do it without our support.

You also need to check your facts concerning Rudy's positions on economic issues. His record makes him a paper tiger. Do yourself a favor and read the Guiliani Truth File at the top of the page. Alot of effort has gone into research into Rudy's record and it ain't pretty.

I have 2 Fred magnets on my vehicle - 1 simply says “Fred 2008” and the other “Fred Thompson makes Liberals wet their pants”.

You’d be amazed at how many people come up to me in parking lots or unroll their windows at stop lights to ask me questions about him! I feel like I should carry some pamphlets around and pass them out ~ it’s been happening that often, even in places like CA (I travel all over in my vehicle for work).

Gives me hope!

In the news Fred Thompson seems to fair just as well with highs from NBC at 26% and lows from several news polls at 20.0% for the month of September.

...seems to fare...
