I don’t agree with that at all. In an ideal world we would have a strong conservative candidate that would appeal to all republicans as well as a majority of independents and yes even some dems. Reagan is dead and frankly some of us don’t see this appeal in any of our candidates. So we look at polls and in most polls we see Rudy strongest in match ups against Hillary. He also projects strengh. He doesn’t take any crap from the media and he was the first to come out swinging against the democrats. Do we like his views on social issues? No we don’t. Are we comfortable with every aspect of the mans personal life? No, but he’s right on the WOT and most economic issues. I just think too many are hanging their hopes on a candidate who does not have the fire in his belly to make a fight of it all the way to the Nov. 08 elections.

“Do we like his views on social issues? No we don’t.”

The divide is over social conservatism, we won’t vote for Rudy, and to his supporters it ranges from I hate social conservatives to “Hey, I’m not obsessed with social conservatism”.

Oh, the old “He doesn’t have the fire in his belly” excuse for dumping Fred so we can vote for a Clinton Wannabe!

Not for my family, friends, or myself. Not in the primary, and not in the general.

If the Republican party wants to commit suicide, the will do it without our support.

You also need to check your facts concerning Rudy's positions on economic issues. His record makes him a paper tiger. Do yourself a favor and read the Guiliani Truth File at the top of the page. Alot of effort has gone into research into Rudy's record and it ain't pretty.

Yes, he is right on the War On Terror. But now, the DEMS are saying they can’t committ to pulling troops out of Iraq by 2013! Since the DEMS now sound like the Republicans on the war issue, we may see another issue come to the top of the “issue list”. On the immigration issue, Rudy is with the DEMS and the majority of Americans are not.
