N. Korea slams US over 'Syria strike'
Jerusalem Post ^ | Sep 24, 2007 15:16 | ASSOCIATED PRESS

North Korea accused the US of defending Israel's recent alleged air strike against Syria, calling the strike a grave crime that undermines regional peace and stability, a South Korean news report said Monday. ...after this month's reported IAF raid on unknown Syrian targets, over suspicions that North Korea might be providing nuclear assistance to Syria.

...

The North also claimed that the US had defended Israel's "brazen behavior" in allegedly launching the air strike, Yonhap said.

North Korea's comments came days after it held high-level talks with Syria. The two countries, which deny the allegation of a secret nuclear connection, did not provide details of Pyongyang talks.

Andrew Semmel, acting US deputy assistant secretary of state for nuclear nonproliferation policy, said earlier this month that North Koreans were in Syria, and that Syria might have had contacts with "secret suppliers" to obtain nuclear equipment.

Semmel did not identify the suppliers. However, he said he could not exclude the possibility that a nuclear black-market network, run by the disgraced Pakistani nuclear scientist A.Q. Khan, could have been involved.

Semmel's comments raised speculation that the alleged September 6 Israeli incursion into Syrian airspace had targeted a nuclear installation. US officials have said IAF warplanes struck a target.

One US military officer said the strike was aimed at weapons being shipped to Hizbullah in Lebanon.

N.K., methinks thou protesteth too much. Let's see, you had joint ventures with Iran in missile technology, possibly Syrian access to what Clinton & Bush said were Iraqi WMDs, and now possible nuclear materials. We know this oil-rich region needs nuclear energy, don't we? To blow Israel off the map. But then there was no such thing as the Holacost was there? Columbia University historians should attest to that.

It's as if they desperately want the world to know they were directly involved. Strange.

It is of the same genre of international diplomacy as Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad. Do they really expect us to believe that load? How can they say those things with a straight face? Amazing!

I’m just sitting here thinking about last months ‘big news’ regarding North Korea and a possible ‘break’ in negotiations with that Cult of Personality.

I noted that since North Korea is best described as a nation thats simply Insane, it wouldn’t amount to anything, just as every other ‘break’ since 1953 has.

This insanity won’t come to an end til the self proclaimed Deity in North Korea falls over dead, or is taken out by assasination. Til then, its a waste of time to even hold discussions with them, let alone give them things, ala the failed Clinton policy.

I wonder if the NOKOs killled in the action will get medals?

Will the NOKO generals who can barely standup because of the weight of the medals on their tunics be decorated for this overseas action as well?
